Has anyone had a problem or have heard about a problem with the seal for the Targa top? I washed my car the other day, and water came rushing in on the two corners on the front of the Targa. I am worried if I get caught in a rain storm, that the interior will be soaked. Does anyone know where to get the new gasket/seal for a 95?

Awesome thanks... It looks like I need a new seal.. I have holes in the seals, in the top corners where it meets the pillar..

I was hoping to see if a company has them cheaper than the dealer price of 1k...

Hmmm. Where are these holes? Are they in the vertical weatherstrip on the windshield pillar? If so, they are supposed to be there as they conduct the water down through them. Problem on older cars is that they crush and so the water comes out the top into the car, hence the roof leaks.
I've been looking for a strong yet, thin walled tube to put in there to keep it open yet not restrict the flow. Ultimately I would heat and flare the end at the top.

These arent holes for the water drain... These are serious holes, like where the previous owner slid the Targa top across the seal, and cut the actual seal..

Post or pm me some pics just make sure they are no sooo close that I can't see exactly where on the car they are. I may be able to suggest a fix.

That's a nasty tear, like it was grabbed with pliers and ripped.
I'll get some time and try to post a fix over the weekend.

Looks like someone tried to "Jimmy" the car open with a coat hanger!

Gary

I agree with Gary, that doesn't look like normal wear to me. Is anyone else with a targa top experiencing seal wear like that? Pbassjo is that normal - do you see that often?

Sorry...can't help ya. Never driven any of my NSXs in the rain!
