NSX Type-R Seats - Cost/Issues?

Hello

I am thinking of picking up another NSX - an older grand prix white(anyone have one?)
I really like the idea of building an NSX Type-R replica(with a little more power of course - stage 3, anyone?) I really love the Recaros, of course theres a problem though - well actually theres a few -
Science of Speed always has the best prices - but they are 6000?
Plus I cannot find them anywhere else.
I am assuming the price and difficulty to find is because they have to acquire them custom made from Honda?
I really have myself set on getting these seats - yes I know, I am crazy, hah.
If anyone has any solution to my problem or suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks so much.

Solution one : sneak on board a vessel headed to Japan, get off the ship unnoticed, find a type R, steal the seats out of it, then get onto another vessel ship except headed back to the Usa. Then, get off the ship with your new seats unnoticed.

Solution two : buy a set from Science of Speed, they arrive, and then you install them into your car.

u can get the recaro pole position seats, which looks very similar to the oem type-r recaros. they are not carbon kevlar reinforced though. i think u can get them for under 900 ea

Would I be crazy for spending 6000 on seats?
If that is the first thing you do on your way to building a "replica" NSX-R, yes, I would say so.

Regardless, no matter what you do building up a "replica" NSX-R, it will never be a real NSX-R. Just get the Recaro Pole Positions.

Logic speaks volumes.

See recent thread by KANE, on new Type-R clones being developed. He's got something VERY close to your needs.

I agree with Anil, look in the vendors section under the heading "Status seats" started by KANE, he has some seats that look similar to the Type-R.
