Guess what color?
I think my comment of being able to ask for your badge number has causes some confusion. I have received quite a few private PM's asking exactly how I did it and who to contact. Since I got a Canadian car and the vins are only between 331-345 AND they were all produced within 30 days, was probably the main reason I was able to get the vin I wanted. Or maybe it was already predetermined. The US cars are following the VIN vs production sequences. Therefore, if you are slated for November or December, you will most likely fall somewhere between 250-300. I think it's a lot harder for US customers.....maybe even almost impossible.
At this point, Acura is trying to juggle all the supply chain issues and I doubt that satisfying a request for a specific badge number is on the top of their priorities. Honestly, it's obviously nice that I got 333 but who are we kidding, we are extremely fortunate to get these cars. If my request was not fulfilled, I still would be over the moon for getting this car.

There are actually 5 Gothams from the total 15 slated for Canada. 33% of total production. 1 was the lottery winner (yourself), 1 was the auctioned vehicle and 3 that went to buyers that had ordered a 2022 before the announcement of the Type-S and they all chose the Gotham gray. Like others have mentioned, Gotham is the most common Type-S color with 20% of all production.

Wow, I guess I misinterpreted when the dealer told me I was the only one who got Gotham Gray. I guess he meant from the lottery winners. He did tell me that the internal Acura one was going to be Gotham, but that was it. Do you know who the other 3 are who were put their orders in before the lottery?

Gotham Gray
Gotham Gray was limited to 70 of the 350 total production, as it was a limited color and all 70 were ordered in Gotham Gray, it would be 20% of the total production. I ordered Valencia Red Pearl as I do not like a Matte Finish. I think a wrap is a better option for a matte finish, it also reduces the maintenance for matte vs paint.

I do not know about the reduction from 70 to 60, maybe one of the NSX Specialist can make an informed comment. When I was at the PMC on 1/26 & 1/27, I saw 4 Gotham Gray cars that appeared to be finished, the last day I was there I think there were 2 sitting, appeared to be finished on the 2 rows of 6 cars.

From my last knowledge, it is still at 70 total. 50 for US out of 300. 5 Canadian out of 15 and 15 out of 30 for Japan. I also heard that maybe it might be 10 for Japan and the remaining 5 will go to the Honda allocations of the 5 left over from 345 to 350 total production.

Gotham will be the most ordered color followed by the usual suspects of whites, black and Reds. Whoever orders orange and especially Nouvelle Blue will be the rarest color. Yellow has been more chosen than anticipated due to all the reviews and videos in that Indy yellow color and made alot of prospective buyers lean towards it more.

I was really expecting the Type S to sell 300+k. I think they just wanted a quick flip. I'm curious to see what the next listed car starts at. These early cars will define the resale market, and honestly, it should not be sub 300k imo.
