Thought it would be interesting to see a visual profile. Man, can't believe how big and how fast that GT-R is.

Is it fair to even compare them?

Great pics. Great seeing the car IRL today too on the drive. That's a monstermobile, for sure. (In a good way, of course )

That was really nice to see the car in person. Thanks for inviting him Jack.

Nice to meet you Bob.

Thats a HUGE bish!!

Not as bad looking next to the NSX that people make it out to be. The black bottoms gives it the illusion that it is thinner than it is from a distance, but take a look at the roofs height and that goes out the window. They really could have done without the black bottoms, making it sit 2-3 inches closer to the ground, like this...

my 10 second cheap work
i wish nsx would have something like this.

It certainly is HUGE compared to the NSX but compared to the rest of the 2008 cars (even sports cars) its right in line.

I think the lines/looks are growing on me. I will own one sometime, just not anytime soon.

That's a mean looking car!
I have always cultivated refraining from any sort of judgments
on whether or not I would like something till I see it in person.
Even with the older GTRs, it looked like crap in pictures but
gave me shivers in person.
With that said, it is cosmically mind-blowing how awesome
the NSX look right next to these brand new cars.
It truly is a "timeless" design in its perfection.

Jack,
Thanks for inviting your friend on the drive. It was my first time seeing the GT-R in person. The GT-R looks a lot better, and more aggressive in person.

Cool thread. Nice to see them so close together. I saw my first GT-R in Scottsdale, AZ last Saturday. I just wasn't impressed. It has a very fat look to it.....kind of like the newer Shelby GT500 Mustangs but the Mustang looks tougher and has better lines. I'd never admit this under oathe but I actually think the G35 looks better than the GT-R. Gotta respect those numbers though. Time will tell if its going to be reliable.

I know this is biased but I think any manufacturer has a tall order to beat the looks of the NSX.....including Honda.

Except they couldn't, because then there'd be no ground clearance for certain bits underneath the body.

As one who does not (yet) own either car, I can say without any owner bias that the NSX is the sexier car from most angles.

Great photos. Comparing the two is some what fruitless since they are so radically different. But they are both slathered in awesomeness.

Great pictures!

Don't get me wrong, but the GT-R is an awesome car. However, I've seen few up close and the body lines does not do anything for me. It still very bulky. I felt the same way when the 2003 350z rolled out. Just my opinion.

My GF thought it was a Mustang at first glance!!!

The GT-R is awesome looking no question. A future classic if only for giving Porsche and Ferrari a bloody nose for 1/2 the price.

But how many cars from 1991 have aged this well? Not many.

I still think more people will look at the NSX because you just do not see too many and it is a classic, no question.

Great comparison.
