NSXCA at the Laguna Seca ALMS - Photos

Thanks to the generosity of the Acura Division of American Honda, the 5th American LeMans race at which the NSXCA has been a guest is going on at Laguna Seca this weekend. We will have 108 NSXs and 215 people in attendance for the big race tomorrow and have approximately 60 NSXs today for the practice and qualifying sessions. Acura and IMSA also set up a private granstand just for our use between turns 4 and 5. During the practice session the Lowe's Acura set a new track record and beat the old one by 2 seconds - - - and that was only in a practice run. Let's hope that bodes well for the finale tomorrow.

Great photos! The weather today was wonderful here in Monterey. We can only hope it stays that way. The car corral and the entire setup is first class! Congrats to Acura, IMSA, and NSXCA! :biggrin:

I plan on getting plenty of use out of that private grandstand to capture a few Motorsports shots of my own. :biggrin: If you're looking for me, I'll be the guy with the little pile of dead batteries next to him. :smile:

Before lunch the drivers of the three Acura teams stop by to speak with us. Tony Kanaan mentions in front T.E. McHale that he loves the NSX and wishes they would come out with a new one. Let's see if he has any more clout than we do......

I didn't shoot any of the other inferior corrals. Once you see 100 NSXs in one spot you just lose interest in the other corrals.......

I didn't see, or shoot, a Veyron. I think you might be looking at the R8 that I posted.

Bob, awesome shots as always. You're saving me the trouble of posting most of mine! (For those interested, I'll be sharing mine here)

I got caught without my flash when the drivers were in the tent and I didn't want to be rude by leaving to get it. I also didn't shoot the coverage I should have (lots of shots of eyes closed) especially when I recorded moments on the podium. I guess that's why I'm not a professional photographer.
