Odd noise, HELP!

I've recently been experiencing an odd rubbing/grinding noise. It's intermittent and only from a dead stop. It happens only after the car is warmed up or a little heat soaked and only when I start in first gear while the clutch is partially engaged. There's no noise through the rest of the gears and shifts are smooth, idles while the clutch is depressed and when in neutral just fine. Reverse is good too. I've searched throw out bearing noise and it doesn't quite match the description, same with input shaft bearing noise, wheel bearing noise, cv joint noise. I've read so many topics and I'm just lost on what the noise is. The ONLY thing I can think of maaaaaybe has to do with engine load and rubbing? Maybe a engine mount? I have an engine torque damper, maybe that? But it doesn't explain why it's only when the car is hot and it's first gear only. Help me!!

I've had a look at that thread and it sounds like the same issue. I'll look in the next couple days to check the mounts and headers or clearance issues but I dont think it's due to engine load because if I accelerate harder I never get the noise. It's how Angus describes it *only when I let off the clutch a certain way" type deal. Still stumped 8-(. And I couldn't induce it this afternoon, when it starts to pop up again I'll try the 2nd gear start idea. Thanks guys.

Ok I had a look underneath the car today, I think I found the issue. The flange from my prospeed cats and ct headers were right above the 1/2 hexagon shaped subframe piece. Very close (1-2mm). So a few options presented themselves. I could grind an eighth off the flange or cross bar. But found a better solution by just adding a couple washers between the brace and frame to space it down the same amount. Hopefully this solved the issue :)
