Odometer stopped rolling.

The odometer is a stepper motor that receives a signal from the Vehicle Speed Sensor. I'm guessing either the stepper motor or the VSS croaked.

The circuit diagram is in the ETM.

Here is the circuit diagram and component/connector locations.

Vehicle Speed Sensor: Lower rear of engine compartment, on transmission.

C119: Connector on VSS.

C158: Right side of rear bulkhead.

C450: Behind right center of dash, taped to harness.

C437: On bottom right of gauge assembly.

Have fun!

It would not be VSS-related if the speedometer still works (and your TSC light has not come on).

Being stuck on 9's suggest a mechanical failure. It takes a bit more effort for the motor to advance the odometer at this point since it has to roll additional digits. You might want to try taking the cluster out and giving the odometer a little nudge (maybe lubricate it while you're at it).

Are your the original owner? I wonder if the previous owner tempered with the odometer, and perhaps cause the odometer to stay operating on a thread.

I agree with Vance. Have a professional odometer shop open up your gauge cluster to make sure.

What kind of lubrication should you use for a sticky odometer?

I had the problem with the trip odometer being stuck at 335 miles. It was like that when I bought the car. A little blast of silicone spray freed her right up. Other people have also had their frozen at exactly 335 miles. The issue is caused by re-setting the trip odometer while the car is moving which is a no-no. Only reset it at a standstill.

What happened Hugh? You had the perfect opportunity to tell them which kind of lubricant to use and all you end up doing is to give legitimate advice.

I always give legitimate advice my corn obsessed friend. :)
