Can anyone tell me if the 97 - 01 OEM wheels will fit a 91 NSX?
I know the brakes are larger on the 97 on.

I would like to move to 16 - 17 wheels from 15 - 16 and stay with the OEM wheel.

thanks for the help

Yup. I've been using a set of '94-96 wheels (which are identical except for the gunmetal finish rather than the brushed aluminum of the '97-01) on my '91 for a long time.

With all the delay in ordering wheels ~ 3-4 months at present for what I wanted(Advan T5). I am thinking same. Glad to know everything fits with no alternations? Thanks for the post.

Not everything. Just this particular example.

Things that don't fit include the '91-93 stock 15"/16" wheels on a '97-05 NSX (not at all), and the '02-05 stock 17"/17" wheels on an earlier NSX (I'm not sure which years, and I think you need spacers).

Really? The 17/17 from 02-05 won't work? What are the issues?

It's more of an aesthetic issue than a fitment issue, I *believe*.

I'm not sure of their is a difference on the offsets on the '02+ NSX-R wheels vs. the '02+ NSX OEM wheels, because I have after-market wheels that are '02+ NSX OEM size (F: 17x7, R: 17x9) having '02+ NSX-R offsets (F: 35mm, R: 40mm); all w/o the use of spacers for my '91 NSX.

I know Aero runs 02+ wheels on his blk/blk 1991.

Maybe he can chime in and tell us how it works.

Just like above with the wiki link you 100% need a 5mm spacer on the front for the 02+ OEM 17/17 to fit the 91-96 NSX's. The brakes changed in 97+ so they will fit without problem. I had the 02+ OEM's on my old 91 and loved them. If you don't want to use the 5mm spacers on front the other option is to upgrade to 97+ brakes.

Oh yeah, you'll find many posts on if you have enough turns of the lug nuts to be safe with a 5mm spacer. I choose the safer route and changed out the studs. The kit I got was from Science of Speed and they were H&R with the longer studs. Also, the 5mm spacers do NOT have hub centric rings like the 15mm and 25mm kits. They will fit on the front OR back and when the wheels are torqued down they will align correctly.

I use the '02 wheels on the street and the standard 15/16 wheels at the track on my '91. My car is lowered about 1", the '02 wheels need a 5mm spacer at the front to clear the brakes but they do rub on full lock and they do touch the fender liners if you hit a big bump.
I am trying 15mm spacers front and rear to correct this (cured the rubbing at full lock, still touches the fender liners), I will have to raise the front about .5", but this set up really works well with the 15"/16" wheels.
