I just became the proud owner of a 96 nsx-t last weds however i wasnt aware until now that my passenger side power moving seat doesnt work. The interior was converted from tan to black so the seats were swapped with a different year.. not sure what year. The harness plug was unplugged from the chassis and a pigtail was attached to the plug on the seat itself. However the seat plug and chassis plug is different.

chassis plug is 6 pin (white connector), 2 upper (empty), 4 lower (used)
seat plug is 4 pin (brown connector)

i want to know whats the wire order?

Hey man congrats on your purchase.

It sounds like you have a older model seat with a 4 pin connector.

The harness plug should be a 6 pin connector

pin 1 & 2 not used
3- white/green stripe (power for seat slide)
4- black (ground for seat slide)
5- white/blue stripe (power for seat recline)
6- black (ground for seat recline)

The older model seat had the same color code.

I actually have a similar issue but my power slide forward n back works but the backrest does not move, can the motor be purchased n replaced for the backrest only or should i look for a whole seat to replace this one ? my leather is trash anyway for i have to re-skin them very soon.

Yes they can be purchased for around $300 (new).

Before spending the money check the fuse, that all plugs are connected and the wiring. I would also test the motor before buying a new one.

You didn't say which seat.

Engine compartment fuse/relay box
Driver recline fuse #20
Passenger recline fuse #23

Thanks... I took a look at the color code.. Indeed the 6 pin are the colors you said however the pigtail harness that was attached to the seat is different in color..

Blue / yellow
Black
Red / black
Red

I wonder if it's as simple as de-pin the current plug And swap plugs... I just hope they are in the same order of function, I would hate to blow the fuse or even frY the motor..

You will need a volt/ohm meter to verify the wiring from the four pin plug on the seat to the connector for the switch. Are you listing the exact colors for that plug?
Always list the main color first and the stripe color second.

There isn't much information on the internal seat harness color coding but there is a difference between 1991-2005 listed internal switch connections.

Not sure if it is the actual pigtail for the seat or just a random pigtail... But I decided to go take the chance... The wiring order is the exact same. I just depinned the harness and swap plugs in the same exact order.... Now I have power seats :) and realized that it's missing rear 2 bolts holding it down... At least the previous owner was nice enough to leave the correct pigtail for the swap.... Thanks guys

Awesome,
Glad you found out the bolts were missing. I'm sure you checked the other seat.

Cheers

glad it worked out for you S2kvee, and my issue is in the passenger seat

Ok, then check fuse 23 first. Do you have a volt/ohm meter? If not, you will probably need to remove the seat to make sure everything is plugged together and no wires are pinched or broken but you may end up having to do that anyway.

Id start with checking fuses... The nsx is weird seperating slide and tilt movement in seperate fuses.. Once the fuses has been checked, I recommend using a voltmeter on the seat harness plug and check for voltage when activated... From there I can rule out one of two things.. Electrical vs mechanical issue. Try removing the seat and motor for inspection.... For all you know it's probably stuck... Good luck
