Hi Seattle folks,

At the end of NSXPO 2008, I have a 6:00 pm flight (last flight out to Chicago) from SEA-TAC. Since I am dropping off a rental car, I assume I should plan on arriving at the airport vicinity around 4:15 or so. Two questions:

1. What route should I take to the airport? More specifically - Google maps tells me to take 18 southwest from the track to I-5, then I-5 north to the airport. Is this better than taking 516 through Kent, which seems more direct but which may be slower?

2. How long will this take at that time of day, i.e. what time should I leave the track to have a reasonably confidence of arriving at the airport around 4:15 on a Tuesday afternoon?

TIA for the help.

That is the easiest way to get there. If you need to be there by 4:15 I would leave around 3:00ish. But if your flight leaves at 4:15 you need to leave much sooner (1:00 or so)

Are you dropping off your Rental there, or you will take a cab??

always take Hwy18 to I-5. It's a lot more direct but then there could be some slow traffic right between hwy167 and I5 junction. (Which you usually be able to go thru it in 15 mins.) I will avoid the route going though Kent/auburn area, it's shorter distance but got way too many traffic lights.

+1

18 to I5 should be the most direct, I would stay away from 167 or other routes. On a Tuesday at that time, an hour should suffice with room to spare. The security lines aren't usually too bad anymore, but I'd buffer something reasonable.

Thanks, everyone. Sounds like if I leave the track between 3:15 and 3:30, I should get to the airport area by my target 4:15, which leaves me time to return the rental car, get through security, etc. for my 6:00 departure.

1. yep thats the best, but enjoy the traffic :)

2. 1 hour to drive with traffic...maybe 40mins if none.
