I have ordered the new 2002 Type-S suspension.
The parts just arrived and look exactly the same as the normal struts.

I would like to make sure I got the real Type-S/correct ones!

For some reason the parts sites of several Acura dealers don't work at the moment, so cannot check the numbers.
The numbers I got in:
Front:
51601-SL0-J04
51602-SL0-J04
Rear:
52610-SL0-J02
52610-SL0-J02
Can someone confirm if these are the the correct new Type-S (2002) struts or not?

Also: for what reason are the fronts different part numbers (L and R) and the rears not? (abs/brakeline brackets perhaps?)

Type-S = '99 Zanardi NSX, Type-S_Zero = '93 NSX-R (NA1)

I have ordered the new 2002 Type-S suspension.
The parts just arrived and look exactly the same as the normal struts.
Perhaps you anticipated the struts/shocks would look like the Type-S_Zero versions which have the external-reservoir for the dampening-oil...(?)

Here are the P/N's for my Zanardi NSX suspension...

'99 NSX Zanardi-edition 6spd. coupe
51602-SL0-J02 SHOCK ABSORBER ASSY., L. FR.
51601-SL0-J02 SHOCK ABSORBER ASSY., R. FR.

52610-SL0-J01 SHOCK ABSORBER ASSY., RR

I should have the '02 Typ-S struts, so are different numbers than the '99, thanks for sharing though.
Again tried to look at the partslist sites, but these are still offline, is this permanent?? Would be a great loss of info if that is taken offline :frown:

Still: does somebody have access to the partnumbers and can tell/confirm if I really have the correct '02 Type-S parts??

But...you are looking for non-US parts. You will not find these P/N on local US based sites. You will neeed to contact someone in Japan for assistance. The J02 suffix does indicate an original part used in Japan. There are a few of these that are used universally for all markets, but the struts are not.

Are these parts sites possibly recently blocked off for non-US users :frown:?? Just a week ago I could still get on them

Seems to be. :( Maybe a network cable deap down in the sea was bitten by a furious shark. :D
Seriously: If this seems to be the case I'm sure we'll find a workaround and even if this means that I have to reproduce the parts catalog on my webserver like someone scanned the SM into a pdf file.

As to your shocks: the front ones indicate with J04 a different version than the Zanardi J02. I recall only two versions of the Type S suspension, the Zanardi/early Type S with linear springs and the later Type S with progressive springs. Same argument for the rear shocks J02 versus J01. So I strongly believe that you got what you've paid for.
As you suspect the front ones are L/R because of the brake line holder arm on the shock.
