Pet Squirrel? lol

My roommate in college used to have a pet squirrel in the dorm room. It had no feet or tail, so he named it Stumpy. Stumpy was one mean little critter.

I've rescued various ones over the years and released them. They don't make great pets. I don't recommend actually getting one. They are very intelligent animals though. They were in the top 10 most intelligent animals on Animal Planet or discovery or something.

A friend of mine's dad had one he raised from birth. I had no idea they could be such good pets. He would bring it to his job and let it rome the office. Now that is the first white squirrel I've seen.

Sounds like a Richard Gere special needs squirrel.

Ya'll not afraid of fleas, lymes disease and rabies?

Yes, they are smart. NOt sure how they know, but they know what a RWS 48B is for some odd reason......

that explains it...I saw a video somewhere a squirrel unscrew the lid of a peanut jar.

My mom and her brothers had one as a pet back in '50's. Named it Stinky. Apparently it got into everything, climbing the curtains and so on. One day it made the mistake of sinking its teeth into my grandfather's hand and holding on, and so my grandfather throttled it.
Mom says stinky is stuffed and mounted on a log somewhere in the attic.

Can your really domesticate a squirrel???

No. They do a lot of shit around your house you wouldn't like. Plus they bite... hard... they are designed to be in trees. They will destroy your house. I've raised one, I know.
