Philip Seymour Hoffman...RIP

50 bags of H found at the scene.

Damn, shame we won't see any more of his performances. He was probably one of the rare talents in Hollywood that got to where he is based not on looks, but on pure acting ability. He was hilarious in Along Came Polly, and followed that up with an Oscar win for Capote. Not an easy feat.

He did look pretty terrible in Hunger Games, and recently in general. Chris Farley looked the same way just before he died. I guess you can't hide the health effects of drugs, even with hollywood's makeup.

F him. No respect for a man who does drugs (and OD's) when he has small children.

You must have a very Black or White view of the world.

IMHO he was one of THE most talented actors our generation. He wasn't a pretty boy who took some acting lessons. He truly morphed into his character, something that many young actors aren't capable of. He chose interesting, polarizing characters and story lines instead of trying to be in the next summer blockbuster.

I feel sorry for his partner and their kids. I also hope his death is used to increase awareness of narcotic abuse and Heroin abuse in our country. CDC data from 2010 shows 38,329 Americans died from Narcotic overdose.

Darwinian award for him.

He already had 3 kids so technically its too late for him to win the award.

Yes and no. There are lines you don't cross. Choosing to have children, then allowing them to grow up without a father is one of them. His kids are lucky in that they will likely never want for anything, except of course their father...

this also applies to the F&F accident not long ago. OMG! what if innocent by standers got killed watching their "heros" ran them over.

The moment you venture into the world of H you know the risks. Is it sad, yes. Is it a possibility that you could meet your end because of what you are doing, yes. He knew the risks and sadly for him he and those around him they will have to deal with the consequences of his actions.

He must have been desperate for some kinda new high with 40 bags and 10 needles.......On the other hand there are some addicts that are smart about their drug taking and don't die.So I'm thinking this might have been a suicide......or just plum crazy drug taking fail.....It does go to show though how tough it is for friends and family to prevent someone from croaking....

I really can't tell if this is serious or sarcasm.

Paul Walker wasn't driving, he was a passenger. Did he wear a seat belt? IDK. Did he know the risks that day? Maybe, who knows. I've been in cars where the driver decided to do something spontaneous and stupid... My buddy rolled our golf cart once because he decided to try and drift it. I never saw it coming.

Based on the speed/location the Walker crash, the driver definitely was an asshat. If it had happened on a track, with safety precautions, that's different.

I see drugs just like I do motorcycles. Every time you use one you need to be prepared for mortality. It happens to some, and others get lucky.

This Hoffman guy paid the ultimate price for messing around with drugs; death. It's hard to have sympathy for him, but it's a terrible thing to put your family through.

He is worth $35million and decided to go this route?

Dumb.

If I had a net worth of $35 million I would be posting a thread on how to make my NSX a dune buggy

serious. He wasn't driving but he should've stop his buddy from showing off. They have done enough of that in F&F. No need to proof they are badass.
both were grown men/good buddy/makes $$$$ with kids and the driver's son came to the scene trying to rescue his father with horror. They knew the car was hard to drive, they knew the location was full of people, they knew the speed limit was 45 but they were going what 100mph+?, it was their charity event so they were already "badass" without showing off their driving skills going sideways with a difficult car but they just had to....it was premeditated, unnecessary sadness ruined the lives for many for their stupidity. Even on a race track, that car had caused many deaths. We've all done stupid things when we were younger but apparently some still has that in their system. I would go as far as saying Bieber is next.
