Anyone wanna try taking any NSX pic (profile would be best) and editing to add the Gulf powder blue/orange color scheme made famous by the Porsche 917 and Ford GT race cars (and Steve McQueen's Le Mans movie)? I'm curious to know what it would look like.

Recently at the Sebring 12 Hour and then again at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach, there was a Mosler with that color scheme, looked pretty decent.

Thanks.

Think he means something like this.

Yup, exactly (he said, staring at his die-casts of the #6 GT40 and the McQueen #20 917).

It's more of a baby blue than comes out in NSXrunner's sample. Thanks, runner, for posting. I shoulda thought of adding a picture of what I meant.

This one is fairly representative of the colors (scroll down the page):

I'll give it a go :-).

Is this a flip up light nsx or sexy light nsx ;-)?

Alright here you go. I didn't spend much time on it but I matched the colors best I could (even the number ;)). I realize there are some spots I missed and that the black line should be wider but, hopefully this will give you a good idea of the concept and be of help :).

Wow, cyberdog, nice job.

I think it looks pretty nice! I suppose it's easy for the NSX to look good in any color (the NSX is one of my all-time favorite shapes), but this looks better than I had envisioned.

Thanks so much for the 'shop job!

+1 Looks pretty good. Never really thought about the "Gulf" color scheme on an NSX because I have always associated it with a Porsche or the Ford GT's. But from that pic it looks good.

Great job Cyberdog...I'm really surprised how good the NSX looks in those colors!

Thanks guys. Are you going to try and use this paint job? If so, I'll do a better one and tweak with the colors as well. It does look like a slick paint job and is very original (for the NSX).

Looks good. My photoshop skills are poo:frown:

Time allowing, I'd be curious to see a head-on view with a type-R hood since the fords is vented.

Here is an image of the original (vented more like the R) Orange wheels too:biggrin:

No, I don't think so. I was just curious.

Cyberdog - great work!

Can you do the same photo but have the NSX in "sexy light" look and just the light blue color? It has me thinking....

Reminds me of "Howard the duck" movie!!!!

I meant exposed headlight version of the NSX (2002-2005) like my +02 conversion. If you can color the car in that same shade of Blue as per the gulf image above that would be great!

Thanks.

Ah crap I understood this after I did the shopping, whoops! I forgot that I had called them sexy lights :-P. I do like them better but these pics are so easy to work with I went with the old. Hopefully they don't distract too much from the idea. Here is the blue. I may just use this picture to add the orange paint layer on. It is a nice blue...
