Hi there, I just pick up a 91 NSX with 10xxxx miles on it, the oil pressure light flashes sometime when i'm driving but if i turn off the engine and start back up the light when off. i have replace the oil pressure switch and it still does the same thing a week later. I just have new timing belt, water pump, and engine oil change. Anyone have this problem? Please help.

Since you just had a timing belt done, I think before you panic, you need to check the wiring for the oil pressure light sender. This is NOT the same sender as for the oil pressure gauge, that is separate. This wire runs up the back of the engine, and over the rear valve cover. More then once I have found when I get an erratic oil light it is due to the wire being pinched under the valve cover when it was reinstalled after engine work.

What is your oil pressure gauge telling you?

I would check this single wire first, and report back.

With that said, of course check the obvious, oil level, tight filter, leaks, etc.

HTH,

Hi Larry, i have check the engine oil level is find oil filter its tight no leaks from engine, the oil pressure gauge its working ok when i start up the engine it read at about 2-4. The oil light flashes but dont stay ON. after the car worn up.
For the single wire did u mean the one from the oil switch next to the oil filter? I'll check Thanks!

hey Larry, just a update i check the single wire it was pinched under the valve cover  men thanks to the tech guy who did this, problem fix:biggrin:

My friend did the something after he swapped out spark plug. Upon putting the cover on he some how had the wire pinched so tight that it shear it in two. Of course he was freaking out thinking he broke the car. LoL. Resolder the wire and everything is dandy.
