Got the P0141 on my 97 (under extended warranty). Called the closest dealer (two hours away) asking them to either insure the part was in stock, or to please order it so it would be there when I bring the car in. Parts couldn't figure out which one is the Bank1, sensor 2 part number. Tech guys wouldn't talk to me, service writer didn't have a clue. I've seen a couple different part numbers thrown out in my searches but am trying to nail down the part number so I can give it to the dealer, let them order it and only have to make one trip and actually get it fixed. I can't figure out from the parts diagrams which one is bank one, sensor 2 so sorry for my ignorance. I've no confidence the dealer will pick the right part even with the car there! I'd use an aftermarket replacement and DIY if it wasn't under the warranty. Thanks for any help.

If you have the part number, which I know you do;), I would order it from Ray Laks at 1-888-729-5257, as for Tim. This is the easiest 02 sensor to get access to, and if your car is average milage it should come out very easy with the correct 02 sensor wrench.

My point is that this is a very easy swap, not really needing a dealer to do it. Any good independent shop can do it.

PM me if you have any questions.

Larry - A public thank you for taking the time to look up the part number when my own dealership couldn't be bothered.

The only reason I'm going to the dealer is because it's covered under the extended emissions warranty and so doesn't cost me anything and keeps an OEM sensor in there for any future issues under that extended warranty (well, that and the fact I'm a cheap SOB :D ).

Yes , I forgot about that, and was not sure they would cover your 1997, I was not sure the extended warranty was up to 150K miles for 1997.

I think the dealer may have thought if you had the part number, you would go elsewhere.

Good Luck,

Yikes. If they won't look up the part # how much care do you think they'll show when they go to install it?

I think an absolute idiot could install that particular sensor. If they would just hand it to me under the warranty, I'd gladly bring it home and do it myself but don't think they'd be willing to do that. I did call yesterday afternoon to ask if they had someone certified on the NSX and they said they did.

You know you're in trouble if you're in an Acura dealership getting an oil change and see the "mechanic" heading for the front of the car with filter and oil in hand :(
