Is there a particular reason my post in 'Parts for Sale' was deleted recently. All I asked the guy is if he would be willing to ship if the buyer pays, and you deleted my post. I could understand if there was inappropriate language or subjects, but that seems strange to me. I would appreciate further information on this.

3 reasons
  1. The buyer already expressly stated local pick-up only
  2. The thread you attempted to post in was a duplicate & closed
  3. The part was already sold per the other thread which was also closed

Alright, I understand. The fact that local pick-up only is listed should not justify not authorizing the post, however. If the buyer is willing to pay the shipping the guy could reconsider.

Also, I just had another post for Zanardi interior not post. Man, this is brutal. I could understand if this was for inappropriate language or subjects, but at least give me a chance.

Regards,
Chuck

Apparently you don't understand - the majority of posts for sale say either shipping additional or shipping included - when someone specifically precludes this by stating local pick-up ONLY, there is no subliminal message in my view that says - "well, unless you're willing to pay for it I may think about it again". Some people don't want the hassle of packaging & then transporting to a depot, particularly large items.
Regardless, as stated there were two additional reasons so I'm not going to waste my time with that further.

Things will go a lot more smoothly for you Chuck when you familiarize yourself with the rules & then play by them - your post in that thread was not deleted, just awaiting processing. Posts in the marketplace do not instantly post, requiring pre-approval and no army of moderators is sitting by the keyboard just waiting for one to pop in the queue so it can be addressed immediately.

It has been stated many times - if there is NO notification, your post is awaiting processing - when it has been processed, there will be an automatic notification. Please excercise some patience & work with the system - your post was literally in holding only a few hours. I since approved it.

Look man, this isn't an attack on you. I am aware that there are only a few people to authorize the posts. I just did not understand why some of my posts in the for sale section post immediately, and some don't.

As for the "I understand" line, I do understand based on the other two reasons. I said that for a reason, because after hearing the reasons we were on the same page.

I'm just not sure how you could make a decision for a seller regarding shipping. If there is no chance he/she will ship they will reply stating such terms. I've seen it several times on the site. It doesn't appear to be a big deal.

I really do not appreciate the tone you took with me. I am not a NSX Prime "God" (or whatever the term for someone with tons of posts) so, yes, I am still learning. I am under the assumption that as long as I am polite and use no subjects or language that could be found offensive, the post would appear immediately (due to the fact that some of mine have).

It was just a misunderstanding on my part, but you "grilling" me for not being an "all-knowing" Prime member was not very professional in my opinion.

I apologize if my ignorance offended you in any way, however, more a professional reply would have been more helpful.

Regards,
Chuck

If my post doesn't show up immediately, could someone else's? I just wanted to check, because I had another not post this evening on a part I am interested in.

Thanks
Chuck

Send the seller a PM if they don't say "no PM's" in the listing.
Most sellers will take the first time stamped contact as first in line.

Just send the seller a private message. When you have a question about something that's already clearly stated in the listing, using a PM, rather than posting to the topic, is the ONLY appropriate way to ask.

As far as "not being an 'all-knowing' Prime member - it's a logical assumption that anyone using the Marketplace forums would read, and become familiar with, the rules for doing so, since there is a link to those rules at the top of every one of the Marketplace forums.

I think his reply was completely professional and was not a "grilling" and did not have any sort of "tone". The fact that you continue to grill HIM - rather than just accepting his explanation at face value - shows that you are insensitive to the extensive time he spends moderating the marketplace forums on this site. You've obviously never spent any time volunteering in a position where those you serve think they're entitled to heap abuse on you for doing so; if you had, you wouldn't engage in such endless and petty argumentation. Of course, that's just my opinion - but you obviously need a reality check.

This is a good site, with a lot of useful information and a lot of very nice people participating. Spend more time reading and listening, and less time arguing, and you'll find that to be true.

I agree whole-heartedly. And I stated that I was in the wrong, as I did not fully read the disclaimer. I was just unaware that it was such a big deal, and had already experienced several posts in this particular section not post.

You and I have communicated several times regarding wheels and tires, and you have been a great resource. I would hope from our conversations that you don't think I am a jerk, or any version of the such. I in no way want any of the moderators to think that of me, but it had become frustrating after several occations and dispite my efforts I guess this may have been apparent in my post. If that is the case, I apologize.

I have met many great people on this site and it certainly has been a better community than any of the other auto forums I've experienced to date. I should hope that a little frustration would not result in such hard feelings.

Regards,

Chuck

No, of course not.

Most of us who post find ourselves, at least occasionally, regretting a post that comes across in a less-desirable way that we never intended. Myself included, of course. It's nice when we're able to talk it through and come out with each other's respect, like in this topic.

I need a catalytic converter bank 1 for my 1996 NSX. I am looking to find one that someone is not using that works. Please contact me at [email protected]. I was told that the Acura dealership will sell me one for $1300.00 brand new and I am hoping that I can find one that someone has sitting in their garage. Perhaps, you put on a different one for racing? My phone number is 303 751-1800. If you can sell me one, please call or email.
Sincerely,
Donna Gibbs
