Post submit says "done" but page is blank - post is lost

I should have known to always copy the text before hitting the submit button. Lost a detailed submission of additional update to James excellent write-up in this thread.

Not sure is this is a problem from my end (ISP/computer), but it seems that quite a few times I have to refresh the page when the search/link shows done but the page is blank. Temporary files folder and caches are always maintained. This time, fearing that it hadn't gone through after it said "done" but not showing the page, I hit the previous cursor and all the text was gone; and the post was lost.

Hrant - I'm having trouble figuring out what you are describing. Specifically I do not understand what you mean when you say "the search/link shows done but the page is blank".... what is "search/link" and how is it showing "done"?

Maybe we can try it this way... When you write a reply, you type your text into the box and then click the "Submit Reply" button. The next thing that should happen is the site saves the reply to the database and displays a page that just shows a box saying:

Redirecting...

Thank you for posting! You will now be taken to your post. If you opted to post a poll, you will now be allowed to do so.

Click here if your browser does not automatically redirect you.

After displaying that box for a second or two it sends an automatic redirect to your browser to re-load the thread you posted in, which now includes your reply.

I take it from your post that you are having somewhere between clicking the "Submit Reply" button and having your browser re-load the thread with your comments. So you are click the refresh button, but when you get back to the thread your comments were not saved.

If that is correct, do you ever get to the "Thank you for posting! ...." screen after you hit the Submit Reply button? Is that where it is hanging up on you? If not can you be more specific about exactly what screen it is hanging on?

I really just haven't seen that problem or had others report it. What operating system and browser (including version) are you using?

No. After I hit submit, it goes to a totally blank white page but the buttom left corner of the page shows "Done" as if to say the message was sent and the page loaded. When I hit the back arrow as to go to the previous page - which would assume the page I wrote all the stuff, it is now totally gone so nothing was saved. I have tried refresh before but I will report what happens with refresh

What operating system and browser (including version) are you using?

Office/XP 07; AOL9.1/IE 7. I am suspecting it is an AOL issue as it always seems to be .... I have not tried on Firefox ......
