I'm trying to sell my dad's 1995 NSX and a week after I list it, of course the EPS warning light goes on!!! Not the best timing!
So, I take the car to the local Acura dealer to diagnose the problem and they tell me the whole unit needs to be replaced - $1800. I look through my dad's records and find that he replaced it once already in 2000.
Has the EPS gone out on anyone else? Is this something that's going to happen every 4 or 5 years?? Does $1800 sound right to you?

It is covered under an American Honda safety bulletin. Have the dealer look it up. They either did not replace it the first time, or replaced with a used unit as the new controllers do not freak out like the originals do. Check the TSB site in the FAQ.

yeah... I actually did search first but only found info on the '97 recall. And the link you pointed me to:

I found this page...altho it says for 1997 and up.....my NSX's VIN number falls into the recall unit....

Is dead now. But I do appreciate your help.
When I was at the dealership, they told me the car was no longer under warranty since it's 9 years old... and the EPS unit installed in 2000 was also no longer under warranty. maybe I just need to find a different Acura dealership to talk to.
