Production numbers wrong?

In the production numbers spreadsheet it says that there were no 01 white/ebony automatics made. But there is one for sale on Autotrader here.

Is it possible that the spreadsheet is wrong? Or maybe this car originally had a tan interior?

i think the ad is wrong and its a 6 speed ??

Where do you see 6 speed? I couldn't see it in any of the pics. According to the VIN, it's an auto.

I see red in the engine bay...doesn't that mean 3.2l...which means 6spd?

Or did they put the red valve covers on all the later cars?

also the shot of the tachometer doesn't have the automatic's transmission display thing... strange...

edit: nevermind. the auto transmission display is on the right side of the tachometer.

the car is an automatic according to the vin#. good luck

I'm not interested in purchasing it. I just saw it for sale while looking for others. The guy said he thought it was maybe 1 of 1 in that combo. I thought I'd check here and see for sure. I never thought Prime would be wrong. I guess it can.  Where did those numbers come from anyway?

Ben posted the 1999+ production data into the follow threads:

And the hard working NSXprime Wiki working bee/bees who put it into an easy to digest spreadsheet form for the benefit of us probably made a simple typo.

Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate the efforts of everyone. I was just curious where and how these numbers came about.

whoops, sorry about that, I'll correct it an repost it....

You can got to Hondafinancialservices.com and input each number. It will give you the description.

NOT everything is going to be accurate. For example, some 1996 Silver cars were stated as white. Or some thing like that.

I met and spoke with BEN last week at NSXPO 2008 Portland. He told me the story of how he came up with the Production Number information. In short, he entered over 1500 individual VINs and copied the specs on each one. In a word... WOW!

A BIG "THANK YOU" GOES OUT TO BEN!!!

You are quite welcome, I'm glad that you and others found the information useful! Was a pleasure to meet you at NSXPO.

Stay tuned for the next phase of the project...I am trying to map out production dates for as many of the cars as I can.

Ben-

Do you want us to snap photos of our door jambs? Want me to post it in the Owners discussion thread as that would help you immensely wouldn't it?

Hi Cam,

Actually, I don't like full VINs being posted in the forums, but if you could take pictures of the doorjamb label with VIN and production number, then email them to me, that would help immensely. Even more so, because exported cars are one of the data points I am tracking.

Thanks!
