Bro, this whole forum is where you will find all that info. You can ask specific questions on here but I doubt anyones gonna spend 65 hours to compile a government report on forced induction for the NSX!

No disrespect intended, but you want someone to, essentially, write a book for you. Do you own an NSX yet? The forum is pretty quick to respond to direct questions, but you have a long list that is rather open ended. Either try some specific questions, or, better yet, try using the search feature. You'll be amazed at what you can find.

Just start reading these threads and previous threads. Do a search for Comptech, Baschboost, GruppeM, Cartech, FactorX,
Bell, Gerry Johnson. I may have missed someone. Then start filtering through the MANY threads that will turn up. You have a lot of reading ahead of you. That is what B&T is trying to tell you.
There is sooo much info on this topic. Just be ready to read.

Actually I think I am going to have to disagree with everyone's posts here.

There really is only one FI solution.

The Gerry Johnson custom turbo kit.

B&T should know that and everyone else that has taken a ride in it.

Don't waste your money on the other kits out there. Both B&T and myself have both owned one of the "Other FI kits" and wasted alot of money to only replace it later. With a GJ turbo.

Check it out
http://www.pansx.com/

Mine is the Yellow and Gerry's is the black one.

I'm very curious to know what you and Gerry do about "smog checks" since you're in California...? Are his turbo kits CA smog legal or CARB certified...?

I just ran mine thru the sniffers.

No Cats, just open downpipe, similar to GJ's exhaust.

Sniffed WAY CLEAN...... cleaner than the smog guys '03 Accord. He was baffled.

Of course i didnt tell him that i mixed in a half gallon of methanol into a full tank.

Once i passed, i drove to empty out that tank, and filled up again to flush out the methanol.

I have done that on my friend 2.1L B16A with some JUN3 cams & computer & 370cc injectors. The first time it BOMBED horribly. the next time it blew clean as a whistle.

Methanol if allowed to sit in a fuel system will QUICKLY collect water.... VERY BAD.

That is why you much get it out of the system a quick as possible. That is why i took a long drive to burn it all out. You could also drain the tank. BECAREFUL not to go into boost or hard driving because by volume it takes 2 times as much methanol to burn at a correct A/F. So with the 1/2 gallon i added to the tank it will cause the car to run a little LEAN.

Another thing is that some rubber components dont hold up nice when exposed to methanol over an extended period of time. (dries out the rubber) So do it, and then flush it out quickly. you can flush it out by running gas thru the system. But in the system there isnt that much rubber to worry about, and the bits that are there, can easily be replaced. Only thing i really changed was the O-RINGS on the injectors when i installed the new ones. They do makes ones that are compatible with methanol.

Hey Ray.. that methanol trick sounds pretty cool.

I'm still wondering though how people here in California who have Gerry's turbo kits on their NSX's pass smog...? Especially with the visual and no CARB certification. With the "smog check 2" recenlty put into effect I would have to think these particular people have "connections" with certain smog stations who can get creative with the testing procedures.

I would love to be able to get one of Gerry's turbo kits on my NSX. Would any of you who have one of his kits on your car care to chime in and tell us how to go about passing smog here in sunny Cali?

Or are his turbo kits sold on the basis that the vehicle will be used for "off road" or "racing purposes only"...?

Ok, well I have to deal with this situation in December. I have two options and I have not decided which one I am going to take.

1. The stock electronics and sensors are still in place. The electromotive uses its own. So I can just plug back in the stock injectors and the stock coil packs. The car will then be running back on the stock ecu. I can then drop the turbo piping at the headers and reinstall my cats and exhaust. Install the stock intake and go take the test. Probably 2-3 hours of work if I do it myself.

2. Find a creative technician who has the abilityto just make it pass.

Hope that answers your question.

Most normal humans cannot maintain consciousness throughout the ride, thus have no recollection of it. For those that don't black-out - most of them must be neurolized in order to keep those wannabe's from calling GJ's shop asking stupid questions.:D

Turbo NSX... thank you very much for you reply. And yes, your did answer my question concerning smog.

It sounds like it won't be too much trouble for you if you have to remove the turbo kit and get the motor back to stock. That is encouraging news for me and I think i'm gonna have to go pay Gerry a visit in the near future. Although from what i've read here in the forums, it sounds like he's pretty overwhelmed these days with installs.
