So, last night i was pumping gas and a brand new 911 turbo pulled behind me to pump. The guy walked up to my car and asked what was that box in my hatch. So, i gave him a little tour of my car. I guess he wanted more then that when he asked me to give him a little run on the frwy. I opened my trunk dial in the boost controller for 12 psi and said lets go! My heart started racing when i sat in my car. the car wasn't even on yet. Well, there was no competition. All three times that we raced i beat the $hit out of that car. from take off to top end. The last run i finally looked at my speed doing almost 160mph! every pull that 911 was about 4-7 car lengths! I took the next exit, went to a gas station because i heard a major exhaust leak. the guy followed me, then approached me and basically bowed down to the master! and the exhaust leak was my egt probe popped out and the striped the threads. All i have to say is WOW!!!!

Nice story, sounds like quite a rush. (Don't forget to put on your flame shield for street racing bashers.)

Do you know how much RWHP you are putting down? I'm at about 10-13 lbs of boost, so I'd like to vicariously live through you, and know how I'd stack up against a 911 turbo.

I honestly wish i knew. Maybe mid 4's or more for sure. I'm running 9-12psi w/methanol injection and just a tad of retard. I'm gonna do arp studs and hg in a couple of weeks and push it to 15psi with pump and meth AND WITH A REALLY RADICAL TUNE! I know and feel that this motor can and will take it, no problem. So, i'm going to push it until i see 500-530 rwhp STOCK! Call me crazy, but it can and will be done, i know so!

Which 911 turbo were you racing against? The 996Turbo probably weights 4-500lbs more than your car :)

He said "Brand New" which means 997.

160mph? Sounds like an excellent way to get yourself killed.

Ahh ok so 3494.3lbs almost 500lbs heavier lol but 133 bhp per liter of displacement

Warren what exactly are your mods again? I know you are running a FIC with a CTSC, what else?

where did i say not to drive like a sane person? i am just saying that driving a car like it is made of eggs isnt a good way to break it in either....

would i do 160..??? no way, i like to go fast, but not that fast...people ask me all the time how fast my car is...my answer is always faster than I will ever drive it...

seems like you all just have a soap box that needs attention today...

I apologize if you thought I meant I was saying you would drive it that fast. I was merely stating that I don't think driving a new car hard is a good way to break it in. Others disagree and that is fine, to each his own.
I don't know what Porsche suggests doing when you drive one of their cars off the lot so I can't speculate if it is the right thing to do with one of those EXCEPT saying that it isn't safe to do it WHERE it was done.
Even more shocked that there are others on here condoning the action considering there is another thread on here where it appears another NSX was street racing and that race ended very badly.
Now I haven't taken the time to read that entire thread so I could be off base with that statement but just glancing thru it that seems to be what happened.

What do you have?

Factor X FX500 turbo setup. The last time I drove it we were at about 13 lbs of boost and putting about 450 whp and 420 ft-lbs of torque. However, we just did a retune and switched to a water cooled intercooler and it's pulling much harder. We are scheduled to dyno today but in just driving around on the road my butt dyno estimates around 480-490 whp now
