Any more shots of the Backyard? I dont think I have seen it on any NSX actually. The NSXR spoiler is a dime a dozen.

Type R

Re: Type-R or Backyard Wing?

type r wing 100%

The type-R wing looks terrible on a stock nsx, fwiw.

The BYS is a blend of stock, with a hint of aftermarket; it emphasizes the nsx's lines, and wouldn't look out of place.

I have owned both, the BYS is a better choice, as well as a more unique one; there is a member on this forum, 'oyagi', who has a gently used black BYS wing for sale, perhaps shoot him a PM.

Re: Type-R or Backyard Wing?

If he wants a different wing, Im sure he ll want something else later aswell. So TYPE R it is.

Re: Type-R or Backyard Wing?

NSX-R wing of course.

First of all, I think the NSX does NOT belong in the "typical" ricer group of people who will sometimes add just about anything to their car just to be different.

For me personally, any item I install on a NSX in terms of wings etc. should also be functional and not just cosmetic. And the NSX-R wing is the ONLY wing (apart from pure race-bred wings) that I know actually does something.

Besides, the backyard wing that is shown here probably acts more than a air-BRAKE than a spoiler that will smooth out the airflow from the trunk.

Re: Type-R or Backyard Wing?

nsx R wing if you decided to get some sort of rear skirt. perferably 02+.

So many of us had done it, you might not be that "original" rather OEM.

I used to have a R wing, and even though I always like how it looks, the rear view is terrible. a cop car or two could hide behind you completely.

If you could get the CF backyard, it actually looks better, not to mention more special.

Like Scorp mentioned, I have a black one with the CF center. I bought it mainly because its unique and blends in well with the stock body lines. It looks like the oem wing with a tilting center. I also own an R wing, which I haven't installed yet because I cannot decide which I would prefer. The R wing looks more tacked on IMHO. Its functional, but they're everywhere on Prime and really look like an afterthought. I would sell my BYS if someone really wants it, but if it doesn't sell I plan to keep it since I'm undecided. Maybe I'll swap the wings with my mood

Re: Type-R or Backyard Wing?

you know what would be cool, if the BYS wing would stay down as if stock, until you hit a certain speed and it rises up for down force! or when your breaking and need help stopping, the wing comes up like the mclaren F1.

What do I think? I think if you can't call it by its proper name, then it has no place on your vehicle.
