Does anyone have the rear brake tool I can barrow, I have a track event on the 30th and think it would be a good idea to change the pads and break them in prior to the event. If you have the tool and a re willing to loan it out please call me at 314-616-7242.

Thanks

Dave

I was trying to figure out what I was going to do about the tool also. One of the DIY reviews suggest that a flat edge can be used. Has anyone tried it without the rear tool?

You can buy them at any auto parts store. They sell for around $5 and are much easier to use than a screwdriver.

Any auto parts store, not quite. Scratch Autozone off the list of maybe's.

It's actually pretty easy to use almost anything that will fit into the two notches at the end of the piston. Last time I did this, I used a very small, thin screwdriver whose metal blade was long enough to fit into both notches when placed there sideways, and it worked fine.

Thank You DanO!, I think I have access to the tool locally so I hope there is no need to ship it in, but thanks for the offer.

That didn't do it for me. I tried a few things, but no go. I had to buck-up and get a tool (Car Quest). Even with the tool it took more effort than I expected. Anything short of a rachet assisting (with whatever tool) would have fallen short for my pistons.

A cordless drill with a socket adapter works well for this situation
