Rear rims on front

So I have 2 sets of OEM rims, 1 inch spacers on the rear but want to expand the fronts without spacers. I'm thinking I can add the other set of 17 inch rears to the front to accomplish a filled wheel well and 17 inch rims around. I guess I could even rotate the tires on each side. Any issues anyone could forsee?

Are you planning on running a non-stagger setup with same size rims for the front & rear?

17x8.5? You can put on a 215 or 225 tire, I guess that could work. But no way you are going to rotate the tires on each side...because

1) assuming your rears are 255, that is not going to work in the front
2) the overall diameter of the rear is bigger than the front
3) your TCS is gonna go up the wall

Forgot about the hub sizes being different, guess I could get rings. And yes I would be running non-staggered. How do these guys running aftermarkets deal with the TCS?

TCS is based on the ratio of the front overall diameter compared to the rear. Here'e the info from the wiki...

The RATIO between front and rear should be within 5 percent of the STOCK RATIO. Based on the '91-93 OEM sizes, the ratio should be between 2.7 percent and 12.7 percent. Based on the '94-98 sizes, it should be between -0.3 percent and 9.7 percent.

Not sure what the ratio thresholds are for a 2001, but if its the same as 94-98, then you 'could' technically have a zero ratio difference making all 4 tires the same size all around. But you'll be looking at a 225/40/17 tire, maybe a 235...someone needs to comment on this tho.

I think it's a 245/40/17 on the rear, this won't fit up front?
