It's always best to decide on your tire sizes BEFORE deciding on your wheel widths, for this very reason. Fortunately, most 215/35-18 tires are approved for mounting on 18x8.5 wheels, so you'll be okay (although the fronts may look stretched - 18x7.5 or 18x8 would have been better).
Actually, 255/35-18 is a better match for the TCS on a '94-01. 265/35-18 is a better match on a '91-93 or an '02-05. But either rear size should work on a '94-05 without problems. (I would not recommend 255 on a '91-93.)
so 265's in the rears. What about 225s in the fronts? I agree NSXTASY that you should decide tire size before deciding wheel widths, but these I bought these wheels cheap cheap(until I can pick up some '02+ wheels).
225 will rub. It's too tall in any available configuration Ive seen. It's also going to throw off your TCS as we mentioned. 215 is really the only trouble-free NSX front size.
Most 215/35-18 tires are approved for mounting on wheels 7.0-8.5" wide. So it may appear slightly stretched but not ridiculously so, and shouldn't be a safety issue.
