Replacement steering wheel with airbag?

One thing I've considered changing once an NSX is in my driveway is the steering wheel. Two reasons - First, I just think the OE one is kinda ugly. Second, and more importantly, a smaller wheel drives better and provides a bit more cockpit room. I've never driven an airbag car before, and I always wear my seatbelt, so I'm not too miffed about ditching an airbag, but OTOH if it's not necessary to ditch the airbag then all the better. So, is there an aftermarket wheel available that uses an airbag? How about a different OE wheel that is compatible, like the S2000 wheel for instance? A JDM Momo OE Wheel? Anything?

S2000 wheel would be my choice if it worked. Unfortunately, the wiring for the airbag sensors and firing mechanism is not the same, and that is not something I am willing to "try out" for the sake of experimentation. I have a Momo perforated leather (Racer?) on my track car, and it makes it very hard to go back to the stock wheel. Just too skinny of a rim IMHO. Good luck

While we're on this topic, I have a question. Do NSX's sold in Europe have airbags? I'd love to have an airbag equipped wheel that said "Honda" instead of "Acura".

If I can recall, the MOMO wheels out of the Evo 8 can be bought from MOMO themselves and I think they have airbag capability??? But why do you need the airbag? If it makes you feel any more confident, the NSX-R doesn't some with airbags

Yup, we get a nice H-logo on it.
Forget getting one from Europe, to the US, these things are rated as explosives.

Personally, i still find the thing looking awfull, but me is not ditching it until there is some proper seatbelts in place.

Yep. I have a Momo Model 78 (suede grip) 330mm in the racecar and I love it. Stock wheels don't compare. In my CRX I still have the stock wheel because, while not as cool as the Momo, at least it doesn't look like someone strapped a piece of luggage to the center of it.

I know that some of the JDM fanatics in the Civic world have gotten OE Momo airbag wheels. If a civic wheel fits the NSX, maybe that's a direction, although I still don't know if it's smaller.
