I have a problem where my revlimiter kicks in @ 7000 rpm, and if I keep it there it goes past upto 8000. This only happens in 1st, and not all the time, ie i can drive for 5 mins, bounce it off at 7000, then 10 min later i do it again and it takes me straight to 8.

I know there was a thread about something very very similar to this, i checked it and the person never stated what the issue was, I also PM'd him but have not heard back????

Any ideas on this intermitting issue.

Kind regards,

Omar

Most likely you're either running too cold or the ECU wrongly thinks the engine is running too cold. Check out the coolant temp sensor near the thermostat with an ohmmeter. Engine needs to believe it has warmed up enough to go to 8k. Not sure why it would do it only in 1st, maybe just coincidence. I.e., it's right on the edge and gets warm enough by the time you're out of 1st?

the car is warmed up, and i'm doing this because the car tells me too........ .........honestly its not like i do it all the time but it is frustrating when your car is not running properly..........
