I'm having a problem with the right rear wheel on my nsx it ticks at any speed. Around a month or so I had the same problem. I removed the rim and the brake pads and cleaned up the area and the sound was gone. So last night it came back agene I was thinking it might be the wheel baring butt the draw back to this is that it only makes the ticking sound when im going forward not backwards.

Things to check:

1. splash guard
2. Lug nut torque
3. Center cap
4. CV joint + boot
5. Wheel bearing + nut

The forward vs reverse doesn't mean much because the wheel sees certain stresses differently because of the alignment design.

Tick? Clunk? Duration? Loudness? Description?

Does the ticking speed change with the car's speed? Does it change when you drive straight/right/left corners? If all this is true I would opt for the wheel bearing.

BTW: You would make reading your posts easier for us foreign members when you use the spellings we used to learn at school (or did that change during the years?)

Spellin what is that. I think its the brakepads every time I remove it the sound goes away. Im going to buy some new pads and we will see if it works!!!! Let's Pray....

Mine had the same problem. It was the metal retainer clip not fully clipped into the caliper and caused it to tick.

6. Nail/Screw in tire

How about a small rock in the crevasse of the tire groove? This is very common and may be the culprit. Check to see if you have any small rocks in your tire.

Hey Bill,

My mechanic said he will come up to Mt. Charleston with me next sunday. Lets play him that ticking tune and ask him what he thinks.

Regards
Paul
