I am looking for a specialty wheel lug socket that has rubber or platic around it (and even on the very front of the socket ideally) to protect the wheels from scratching. I've been looking around and hear that possibly one exists (other than the one I have wrapped in electrical tape). I'm pretty careful but this is an area I would like some redundancy... (Especially as I'm consider some Advan wheels which aren't exactly free).

Does anyone know of where I could find one?

Sounds like a good item to get SOS to stock.

(I did find anything on the search).

I Plasti-Dip my sockets to prevent scratching. A strip of duct tape will do the job as well

Perfect. Thanks. I was gowing down the search criteria of rubber coated wheel lug. Protective appears to be the key tag.

Thanks!

I picked up what appears to be a nice one off Amazon. Once I got one of these links amazon showed all like items and I picked one. When it gets here I will give it a go.

Thanks for the help.

I kind of which I bought thy Harbor freight set...

Actually, I think all NSX sockets are 19mm so really the one should be fine. I guess I will find out I I change wheels one day. I really do want those Advans.

Tape works great .... blue painters tape or like someone else suggested duct tape. You can also roll up a tube of paper or something and make a sleeve

I have historically used tape, the problem is the most likely place to make contact is while inserting over the lug. I really wanted to have some on the front of true socket to provide protection. The ones they sell seem to cover the front of the socket some. In the end, care and attention is your best line of defense. I just wanted a bit of insurance (and an excuse to spend money...).

Chicago Pneumatic SS413WP (with Protection) They make several sets
I have this one:
1/2" drive with 17, 19, 21mm 6 sided shoulder sockets
