The monthly meet of the Triangle Italian Motorsports Club will take place on Saturday, July 5th, 9am. Meet at Camille's Restaurant in the Brier Creek Mall at the intersection of Hwy 70 and I-540.

Here's the e-mail I received:

Greetings fellow enthusiasts. We hope that your summer has been going well. Triangle Italian Motoring Enthusiasts will be gathering on Saturday, July 5th at Brier Creek for breakfast from 9 AM to 11 AM. We will be gathering near Camille's Sidewalk Cafe, which has a selection of breakfast wraps and coffee. Other breakfast restaurants are also in the near vicinity including Brueggers and Caribou Coffee. Hopefully the weather cooperates and there will be a large turnout. We may also lead a drive through western Wake and Chatam counties near the Lake Jordan area following breakfast. I'll be making the trek up from Charleston for this event and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone out there. Please let us know if you have any questions or comments.

Regards,
Eric

I've heard from about 4-5 NSX owners in the Raleigh area who plan to attend this meet. Appears as though whatever rain we get Saturday will be late in the day, and scattered chance at that. So come on out. Haven't seen some of you owners since last October. This is a very good get together with some very interesting cars attending.

John,

As you know I still do not have my car back from paint. I think mid to late August will be when I so get it back So I am looking forward to the fiest meet in September.

Nonetheless, I am going to try and make it out with the M3 if all works out just to touch base with you all. Hopefully the "honeydo" list is short for me this weekend!

If I do not see you keep in touch and I'll make it out there soon.

Darrin,
Anxious to see your NSX back together with a fresh paintjob. From what you describe, it should be gorgeous. Hope you can make it. Looks like the rain will be scattered and will be late afternoon.

John,

Thanks ... I am looking forward as well. They just gave me a spray down panel of what it is going to look like. All I can say ....... Killer! I'll bring it with me if I get there Saturday so you can see it.

Here is the paint process. Stripped to Aluminum, Black Epoxy Coating, 2 Black Primer coats, 2 Black Base coats, 1 Mid Coat with Crushed Glass particles then 7 coats of Candy Apple then three clear coats. THAT"S 13 coast in total.

I am also plannig to install a NAV system so hopefully I'll have that done by the time I see you with my car.

Hope to see you Saturday.

Darrin

Hi John,

Going to miss it this time. My luck and planning have not worked out for me to drive up for the meetings. Take some pics for us and post.

I was wondering how the property managers of Briar Creek feel about it? Is it something everyone just started doing or did they ask promission first? I am interested because I really want to put one together here in Charlotte.

enjoy guys.
maybe someday i will be able to participate in these activities.

Hay James. Give me a call next week.

Enjoy guys. Hope you don't get rain.

Doug

Michael,
Hope you can get up here sometime during the summer. Although, I am planning to work with Tony (Greensboro)to put an event together in the Greensboro area as a dry run for a possible NSXPO in Greensboro for 2010. That would put you a little closer to home.

As far as Brier Creek, the Porsche club meets at Camilles Restaurant every Saturday morning for breakfast. I believe the Triangle Italian Motorsports group simply piggybacks on that event. I will ask tomorrow about any official authorization they might have to meet there and let you know.

Regards, John

yeah would be nice to have something a little closer to home. I wouldn't mind hitting something all the time if it were in Winston/Greensboro to somewhere North of Concord or Asheboro. Asheboro wouldn't be a bad spot for ral/dur and the piedmont NSX's, and possibly some of the Charlotte guys. Takes me 1.5-2hrs+ for the Ral events.

Summer is here, we need to get a large lunch and cruise for charlotte to Winston/Gboro guys.

Agreed...closer would be better BUT...this goes down pretty early on Staurday and dismantles ~11:00.

I'll tell you it was WORTH the 75 minute drive. More Porsche 928s, 911s, turbos then I could count...then Audi R8, Countach, F360 or 430, 2 308s, M3 coupe, sport bikes, 4 NSXs, 2 Panteras, 64 Vette coupe, Maserrati ?, S2000s, etc...
and everyone was cool!

Yeah I agree it is nice, me and tanner went up there and saw some nice rides, I usually work til 5ish in the AM so getting out the door by 7ish gets a tad rough:)
I see exotics running down by my house all the time, just the other day I saw a yellow lamb, orange lamb, maserati, red ferrari, yellow ferrari, and somebody that tagged a long in a vette and a benz. Thats like 3-4 times I seen them but never in the NSX, wondering where they hail from. But they must be fairly close to us and not sure if they attend the ral meets or not. But something put together a little closer would be great as I know now there is another NSX here in my town ( red one) and some towards charlotte. Charlotte to Ral/dur is a long hike.

I've spotted the Orange Gallardo and Yellow 360 in northern High Point. I think they are somewhere out Lexington Ave or 109 in the Emerywood area. There is also a charcoal Ferrari 456 and a white Pantera off 109 near Wallburg. Not that I am an exotic car stalker or anything.

Anyway, perhaps I need to drop in on Mills one weekend and do a couple of hours of research looking for twisty roads.

Yeah I am not sure where they run, but its a good 7-10 cars everytime i see them! I met a guy that has a red 91 nsx here in town, he said he would be game for a meetup and drive/grub. Just really curious how to find out these guys route and where they actually start finish. You know the area, I mean it is a lot of curves since everything around here wraps around Highrock and Badin Lake into uwharrie!

more of a curious thing on my part! :)
