Ok so I just broke my tires loose at I10 mph..fishtailed some back and forth (like the fun fishtailing you do back and forth on rainy roads and such or on gravel in an offroading truck)..pretty undercontrol the whole time, but I do not recommend it for anyone else haha. While it was fun, it was scary and I'm not so sure I will be doing that again with my car ever...but I'm glad I did atleast once :)

Anyways, what are some of the scariest things that have happened in yall's cars that you meant to do but then realised that it might not have been the best idea while you were doing it.

Oh and I'm sorry to all the cars that were driving around me on I35 30 minutes ago.

Haha no worries, drivers on I-35 are crazy to begin with.

After finding the frame on my 69 mustang was not repairable I ran the car into a tree at 25 mph. I was 18 y/o at the time.

took my 68 charger off roading cause i wanted to be like dukes of hazzard but when i hit the first turn i almost regreted the decision instantly. The car spun out so bad i did a 180.

110 MPH on an Interstate highway with other cars on the road? Brilliant move numbnuts.

No problem dad. I didn't say it was smart at all. I even admitted it was dumb. I'm usually a VERY calm driver, but at times I do like to push it, and when I do, I do it really hard.

I cant help it to push my car to the limits sometimes!!!

I had to take a Ford Contour as a rental car once. I was scared the whole time it would break down or come apart on me.

Driving my new 300ZX TT with the tops out and getting stuck in traffic at the Willis Avenue bridge leaving NYC back in 1990.

Not EXACTLY the same, but...

Getting home from a 500 mile road trip and discovering the tread on the inside of my front tires was completely gone and I had been driving 75-80mph on the belts. given the extent of the wear I couldn't believe they were even holding air!

Lets just say I am a lot more concerned about tread wear these days!

Why do you insist on driving like an idiot at high speeds in traffic?

Ouch! Had the same thing happen with me and some friends a couple years ago. We were all taking a road trip in his 1955 Chevy BelAir..yes 1955. This was PERFECT! Anyways, on the way back home after driving about 60mph for a good 3 hours strait we pulled over to get some food. Just so happens that he left the front wheels turned when we went inside to eat so that when we got back outside we could see the tire tread and yes we could see the belts. Luckily though we only had ~10 miles left though and we decided to drive back slow the rest of those. the crazy thing is that once we got within a couple hundred feet of my old house the tire went out while we were going only 5 mph or so. Anyways, we ended up changing it in the street with a new white wall tire and the car is still doing great to this day:)

Oh boy, there are a few..... here's a couple

1. When I was 16 in my 5.0 GT convert. .... driving in Miami, super rainy day...... eeks: holding a root beer en route to my buddy's casa...... a minivan decides to pull out in front of me .... pressed brakes too hard, ended up spinning out , full 360 and stopping dead about 1/2 foot from a nice palm tree ..... (angelz are a wonderful thing)

2. Being a fool.... testing the NSX and spinning out (in all honesty, completely accidental) in a parking lot, infront of 7-11. I felt I had lost control of the car, ended up spinning and she ends up *perfectly* in place of the parking spot .... right between the lines. Unbelievably a Dukes of Hazzard moment. (the funniest part : people there thought I was a trick stunt driver, but fact was I just got very* lucky) Again, angelz are my friends :)

Leading a mountain drive, F550 right on my tail and S2000 right behind. Decided I wanted to "try to shake" the F550, pinned it. At the top portion of mountain pass, cooking a good 135 mph or so, road humped upward slightly but short on the straight. Then saw the sign, Right hand curve, posted 30 mph. By then, it was too late to slow down much w/o upsetting the suspension, tapped the brakes just a touch. Car hugged the corner HARD then I saw it, at the apex, the right hand portion of my lane had a BIG hump I couldn't avoid and keep my line smooth. Hit it, car goes up on 2 wheels at the apex of the corner at 110mph, back end kicks out ever so slightly and gently. Pulls out of it, no problem. It's amazing what that car can do. Ferrari hit it too, did a lil 2 wheel action from what I was told, dash lights blinking at him all pissed off and such. S2000.... I think it was narrow enough it missed it, lol.

eeks! that even hurt to read ! glad all worked out...

First of all on my Busa a few years ago I have had a couple of tankslappin moments that worked out OK, not fun.
A few years ago I was showing off with someone in the car and I pulled out onto a 4-lane witha center 2-way turn lane in my 69 Camaro. I nailed it and lit em up. The car trtacks preety straight so I gave a lil turn on the steering wheel so it would smoke em sideways for more fun, then hit 2nd and turned the wheel the other way, then hit 3rd(in a 4sp car) and while still spinning I pulled the wheel the other way to kinda drift or something(not sure what I was thinking) and at that speed I obviously upset the crappy 69 F-Body suspension and sent the car into wild 360's over and towards the oncoming lane at around 60mph. We did about 4 or 5 360's and I could tell no traffic was coming but the half foot high concrete curb on the other side was, I tried to pucker more but realized I was maxed on the puckering. Ending up with my back tires up on the curb on the wrong side of the road facing the way I had come from with a stalled carbed car. Looked backed and now the trtaffic was coming and fast, I got it started and got out of there with no dignity left.

On a little joyride with some buddies, I was doing the fishtale gravel road thing about 40 mph. Came up on a fairly sharp right turn. Had to slow down. E-brake should do the trick.

It didn't do the trick.

But it did send me around 90 degrees and sliding out of control towards an embankment. Fortunately, the gravel was on my side that day and I came to a sliding stop a few feet away from what would have been a really bad day. Oh yeah, I was driving my friend's Dad's Prelude and I was only 15.
