AEM recently released a software update for the Series 2 AEM EMS introducing E85 FlexFuel and Engine Safety Protection features. These upgrades are available for free, and are compatible with ScienceofSpeed Series 2 AEM EMS for 1991-94 and 1995-05 NSX.
E85 FlexFuel:
In addition to its environmental benefits, E85 fuel has become very popular with performance enthusiasts. The fuel can be used to produce significantly more power from super and turbocharged engines at a fraction of the cost of high octane race fuel. FlexFuel feature allows the engine management system to automatically adjust fuel, ignition, and boost pressure depending how much Ethanol content is in the fuel -- allowing you to seamlessly switch between 91/93 octane gasoline and E85 fuel. A plug and play sensor kit is now available from ScienceofSpeed.
Engine Safety Protection:
This feature propels the Series 2 EMS to a true motorsports quality engine management system. This feature allows the engine to be protected against loss of fuel pressure (from a failing fuel pump for example), loss of oil pressure, and over heating engine, or the air/fuel ratio being too lean.
