Search problem?

I went looking for a thread today that I had posted to recently and used my userid as the search criteria .. but got no results. So I tried a search argument from the topic in question and found the thread but my post was missing. I tried another topic thread that I had posted to and it was missing my post as well. Both were in the last week and I used a search criteria of over a week. Have I been blacklisted or is the search not working correctly?

Please post a link to the threads where your messages are missing and I'll take a look at it. Perhaps the index is corrupt or something.

I think what you did was you performed a search for your username. Unless somebody has quoted your username in a thread, the search won't find it. Searching only looks in the messages - not the poster of that message.

If you want to search for the poster's name, use the ADVANCED SEARCH and place your username in the "Search by User Name" box.

If you don't understand my first paragraph, clicking on ADVANCED SEARCH will show you what i mean; there's a "Search by Key Word" box and "Search by User Name" box. Have a play around and you'll see what I mean.

Hope this helps.

Here's an example. I can't be 100% sure of the exact date but I know I posted a reply within a couple of days of the last post ... and pointed to the many other posts on 'struts' (which is the search argument I used to find this one)

Tks for trying NeoNSX but I was using the "Search by User Name" within the Advanced Search function ...also changed the date range for last 2 weeks

Ah, that is a Marketplace forum. It is probably an approval issue, not a lost message. I will let one of the Marketplace moderators let you know what is going on as I am not really involved in the Marketplace stuff these days.

I was just replying to a marketplace thread .. not starting one. Are you saying that all replies are checked/approved as well?

Yes, all posts in the marketplace forums (not just the first one) must be approved by a moderator before they become part of the topics.
