I installed this kewl lexan see-thru engine lid the other day and it really is a great and easy mod. I bought it from jagtiger, (+ trader rating left) and if your asking who makes it, well I dunno. No company markings on item, but not a homemade item.

Looks great! I wanted to do something similar to mine, but now that the rear is tinted, I don't know if it is worth it.

Nice. Does anyone make one that is completely clear? My back window is tinted, but I'm still thinking about this mod...

I love that look. Does anyone know about an engine lid that is made out of wire mesh? I thought I saw one a while back, but I cannot recall where. Thanks.

Wow! Did you make that? At first glance I was expecting to see some subs under that cover. :)

Sorry, I didnt make this one. I did make on for my cousin just like it. The guy that made it made 7 of them, all were stolen out of the shop. Plans were to bring them on the market for a really good price but doesn't look that way.

The lid is constructed from light weight kitty hair using the stock lid as the platform. It can be color matched. The windows are cut from Lexan to keep it close to stock weight.

thanks

Forgive me if I haven't heard of this, but kitty hair?

Kitty hair is another form of fiberglass that you can mold to any shape without all the weight bondo or regular conventional fiberglass layovers create. This is what custom stereo installers use to mold pods and custom enclosures for large speaker applications. Pretty messy at first but when you get the hang of how to use it, the outcome is endless.

hope this helps

I see. I hadn't heard of the stuff before. Thanks for the info.

Follow-up:

FYI, The intake cover and injector covers are stock plastic. It's amazing what a little paint can do to these covers. You can spend a lot on billet covers and those are clearly the best looking, but I have a HVLP, (high volume low pressure) paint spray system and it worked great on these covers. I used high temp paint with a high temp poly finish. So far they have held up great.
If I have a wad of cash someday, I'll spring for the billet covers, but for now they look great and custom.

*Also if I can get any info on where this cover is made and where to get it I'll post it.
