yes, I have tried it. I dyed it first then let it dry. Since my car isnt a daily driver, I waited several days then polished it. It turned out real nice.

You just gotta be careful, when you dye it make sure its all even otherwise, it will leave markings..

You'd be surprised, but I painted the seats with a special spray paint for leather. Its called 'Landau Black.' Holding the can about 18 inches from the seats, and gently misting a very light coat restored the seats beautifully. It dries within 10 minutes. The paint has an elasticity to it and allows the leather to breathe, so there's no hardening of the leather. It was a perfect match for a pair of cracking '93 black seats.
Quick and inexpensive (<$20) and best of all, no worries for stains on the pants!!!
