Can anyone recommend a good way to shrink pictures down to Prime avatar size? I've tried using Photoshop, but the pics always end up severely distorted by the time I super shrink to the acceptable size for an avatar. Thanks in advance!

Sometimes you can better results by using the "blur" filter on the image, then resizing the image to the correct size, followed by using the "sharpen" filter. You can also play around with the "blur more/sharpen more" filters for larger images.

It seems to me like the best way to meet the size requirement and keep image quality is to you use Photoshop to create a PNG file. Different strokes I guess.

Maybe it's just my computer, but using Photoshop, this is the best I could get my current avatar. :confused:

Todd,

I actually have the source pic you are using (of your car). I got it from Dave, and old friend of mine local to you with the silver 97. To get the attached, I did the following:

Open the source pic in PS (using CS2, but I think they all work the same)
Image -> Adjustments -> autocolor
Image -> Image Size -> 150 pixels wide
Filter -> Sharpen - > Sharpen Edges
File -> Save for Web -> Preset = PNG-8 128 Dilthered

Saves as a 6k file for me.

Cheers,
Mark
