Side view mirror

My driver's side view mirror likes to slowly work its way facing away from the car. I assume it is an electrical issue as it occurred while my car sat for 2 weeks while I was on vacation. So, I don't think it is mechanical. This wasn't the first time it happened. I don't think its an issue with the control switch, as it has happened with the selector in the center and passenger side positions. I assume its an issue somewhere between the control switch and the mirror motors. Where should I look next? The only other thing that may suggest it may not be electric is that I have to tell the mirror to go out first before I can bring it back in, like the motor needs to run out to "catch" the mirror. Any ideas would be helpful?

its your switch Im sorry I didnt read the whole thing.

that it a common thing for the driver switch to kinda make either side move slowly depending on the side you select.

so select you passengerside and see if it slowly moves like the driverside in the same condition/scenario.

switch 100%

Hi Kenny,
Have you tried moving it with your finger to see if it's loose inside the assembly? You should take it apart to see if anything is loose or stripped inside or maybe it's the motor itself.

Doesn't sound electrical but if you want to rule that out, position the mirror where you want it then disconnect the power plug to the mirror. Keep it that way for a while and see if it changes.

The driver's side will still move if the passenger side is selected. I usually leave the selector in the neutral position.

It's not loose. It maybe mechanical though. When the mirror moves out, I have to tell the motor to go out to the engage the mirror so I can bring it back it. The only reason I thought it was electrical because I swear it happened while the car sat for 2 weeks during vacation.
