Does anyone know if there's a silencer available for the JGTC center exit exhaust? Since the tip is relatively small, I could not find any universal one.

Why would you want to silence the exhaust? Are you running straight pipes too? We love our center exit with straight pipes, although it's not quite loud enough. I don't know of any silencers for the center exit, just parallel or gt lightweight/gt lightweight center exit. Probably wouldn't be too demanding to have someone fab some though.

*GT-ROM does have three sizes, but it doesn't show any of them being compatible with the JGTC Center Exit. Perhaps one of them could work though and just isn't listed?

The JGTC center I purchased from SOS came with a plug-in silencer. It bolts inside the last few inches of the exhaust tip and doesn't distract the overall look of the beautiful pipes. They do a pretty good job at taming the sound but ultimately I missed the beautiful tone without. So out it came after a short hour drive.

Check with SOS. They might be able to get you a set.

dia'...

I have a pair of unused Taitec silencers specific for the JGTC Parallel exhaust. I assumed that possibly I would need them, being that I reside in a rather sedate/low-key residential area.

I'm not sure if the diameter of the tips of the center-exit differ from the regular dual-exit version. I would think same tips, just different mandrel/pipe-bends make the center-exit different than the regular version.

Anyways, drop me a line if you're interested. I don't see myself using them ever.

ADDENDUM:

Checking Science of Speed's site, JGTC Parallel exhaust silencers will not work. The JGTC Center-Exit exhaust tips are 65mm (Parallel's are 90mm). Both JGTC exhausts have 52mm inner-diameter.

90mm TAITEC Quiet Tip Exhaust Silencers:

* TAITEC GT-006 GT Lightweight Exhaust
* TAITEC GT-008 JGTC Parallel Exit Exhaust

Did you spend your formative years in mosh pits at speed metal concerts? When you came home and your ears were bleeding that should have been a hint. :)

By the way, when I got my GTLW a couple of years ago it was shipped sans silencers. When ted got his recently they were included. I guess this is a recent inclusion from our friends at Taitec. Wouldn't these silencers severly restrict the exhaust? They look like butt plugs.

You can sell them to me then? :D I like the sound overall beyond 4000rpm but man anywhere below that is just big drone.

Nope, it has been the many years of being married and having Heather yell at me that's done it. I figure with a little bit more noise I'll be able to drown her voice out all together. J/K honey!

Holybatman! That's one huge nut sticking out!!

another reason - im pretty sure some racetracks have decible limits... Laguna Seca I think is one among others??

this may be another reason for a silencer :)

Sorry I'm not parting them. I'll be selling the entire system next month with the silencer. It's only fair to the next owner to have everything that came as a system.

Best Regards
