Never have never will .... I find that I encounter less and less smokers in the last few years and most of the ones that still smoke are more curteous and try and smoke away from people.

im enjoying a death stick right now:frown:

It's funny, not a single person in my MA office smokes, while EVERYONE in our VA office either smokes or chews (gross!!!!)

I detest smoking. We take the kids over to my mother in laws, and even after spending only 10 minutes there, their clothes, jackets and hair stink. My MIL refuses to watch them for us at our house, and she will NEVER watch them at hers. I love the fact smoking has been banned at all bars and restaurants in this state and I hope someday it's banned everywhere except in your own house - that includes banning it in cars. So many smokers refuse to use the ashtray in the car (because it makes their car dirty they say) and flick ashes and butts out the window. Over the past decade, I've had lit butts fly in the T-roof of my 300ZX, land in my lap in my parents convertible while wearing shorts, and in my jacket while riding my ZX-6. ARGGHHHH!!!!!

+1 Non Smoking here.

Smoke what?!   .

I'm a fan of Hookahs. occasional cigar.

I'm already having back problem. Adding another problem? Not more a million years. I'm the only guy in the house that don't smoke including my two very young nephews. I'm proud of it.

I kind of resent people who shake off cancer... a cancer that they can easily avoid...

my 21 yr old sister is suffering from, get this - lung cancer - and never smoked a day in her life.

I"ll never touch it and find it repulsive.

I never tried and never will. When I traveled to states outside of California, I was surprised to be asked if I wanted smoking or non-smoking seating at a restaurant. I was also surprised that many states don't use Environmental Health Restaurant Ratings ("A" "B" or "C" placards in the windows of restaurants).

Never even heard of Environmental Health Restaurant Ratings. Is that actually necessary in CA? What do they take into account? I mean if there's no smoking, what else might be in the air inside that's not in the air outside?

Ive tried quitting before. problem is, I actually love smoking. This year, it is my one only only new years resolution. My parents, who never asked me to do anything...have asked me to do this and I always respected their wishes:wink: I feel like im letting them down.

A friend of mine had excellent results quitting using a new medication called Chantix.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chantix

Varenicline (Chantix®, Pfizer, usually in the form of varenicline tartrate) is a prescription medication used to treat smoking addiction. By acting similarly to nicotine on the brain it reduces user cravings for cigarettes and other tobacco products and may assist some patients in smoking cessation. In May, 2006, it was approved for sale in the United States. On August 1, 2006, Pfizer announced that Chantix was available for sale in the United States, and on September 29, 2006, it was approved for sale in the European Union with the trade name Champix.

Gotta do it man!....Your clothes will smell better, your house will smell better, your car will smell better, you will save like 10$ a day on tar, you're less likely to get lung cancer.

It's a Win Win Win Win situation:smile:

I dont smoke in my house, havent smoked in my office in over a year since they passed that new law, and dont smoke in my cars. As far as the cancer thing, im sure im alot less likely to get get sick if I continue to smoke but you never know. Only thing that is for sure is you never know what tommorow's gonna bring but you're propbably better off without the nicotine.

You can only quit if you really want to quit. Doing it for someone else will only lead to a failure. I work with a lot of my patients on smoking cessation and it takes a lot of diligence. Nicotine is more addictive than Cocaine or crystal meth, so you need look at this like a drug addiction and go about treating it as such. The best way to break the habit is to work with a doctor. I only know of a few people who have been successful going at it alone.

Feel free to PM me if you need any advice.

I plan on quitting in 2007. Especially since the tax on cigs goes up another $1 per pack

This may work for me if it comes with 6 or 7 huge body guards to keep people the f--- away from me.

I don't smoke until I get my first stressful phone call or meeting of the day. Some days I don't light up until 5 or 6 pm other days 8 am all depends on the stress level. I also like smoking because it guarantees my person space level. If I light up, people that don't like cigg smell stay back.

I guarantee everyone on earth is going to die from disease or accident, or murder. What else can one die from? I would like to quit just don't see it happening right now.

Are there any rehab facilities for smokers?

Everyone at my work smokes, being in the car business and cig's seem to go hand and hand.

Sorry, but that's a lame excuse. If everyone at your workplace had unprotected sex with the same HIV infected crack whore, would do so also?
