i parked my car infront of this bank where they have money meter (street parking) and the truck(suv) (assuming) infront of me just backed up into my car going up altheway to the hood, and made a few HUGE scratches (no dents thank god)
there was a camera there and when i asked the bank people, they said the cammera is not recording......
i went to my body shop (where they fixed my car when i got into an accident)
they did a compound and some waxing and lot of em went away...still huge long two scratches but still,... people have to becarefull when parking or leaving...
it ruined my day...maybe it ruined a whole month, or a year..

becareful when you guys have to street park.
dont park behind a big cars.

That sucks to hear. What you can do is try this. If the scratches are deep and showing metal, use touch up paint and fill in the scratch and then have a body shop shoot a few coats of clear over the hood. Then buff & color sand it down and the paint & clear should fill in the scratches. I actually did that to a few CF hoods in the past that had some deep scratches. After 3-4 coats of clear and buffing it out, you really could not see the scratches anymore and the hood looked like a brand new hood again.

Sounds like you need to find a body shop that knows what they're doing. Fortunately, you live close to a very good one with a lot of NSX experience.

Sorry, but touch up paint won't make deep scratches magically become invisible, even with clear coat over it. I've seen people who tried this, and the body panels looked like crap. If you want the job done right, take it to a body shop professional who has the experience to make it look like new. (Which means, not the one that djjoonie uses...)

that's ok, I got a punk who back into me when I got to my office. He's even more upset than me simply because his car is new!! (a brand new Ralliart lancer, big deal!) Then he started cursing and complaining the simi truck blocked his view... I was pretty much controled myself, but my evil side almost jump out and choking him to death...

yeah, my wheels' scatched up, front fender push in a little (1/4 inch) so now I got an uneven door gap, then scratch from front fender all the way to rear qtr. panel... His insurance gave me a big check for 16hundreds, but I guess it's not going to cover my loss though.

oh, btw, when I said it's ok, it's not like I think your deal is a small deal, but at least your damage is only to the hood, (a CF hood.... ummm ;) ) I guess it's a trade off for us who daily driven the nsx.

someone did this to me too. i was actually in my car when it happened(not a nsx). i was backed into a spot perfectly at dennys, im a perfectionist when it comes to parking, and i see this old lady driving up in her caprice. im like, man i hope she doesnt park by me. ofcourse she does and when she is pulling in she puts two footlong scratches around the right side of my front bumper. i was just in awe and couldnt get up in time to tell her to stop. i get out calmly and say, "you just hit my car" she goes "did i really?" she had no idea, we exchanged numbers and $400 later i was ok with it, but some people just arent careful.

Sorry to hear about the incident. I know your pain. A week or so after i took my car out of winter storage someone at my office backed up into it and didn't have the balls to leave a note :p

Can anyone recommend a good buffing compount to remove scratched? I had planned on getting the part repainted before winter but i might as well try buffing the scratches out.

Try this product

I would definitely try using this product:

www.langka.com

Just order some touch up paint from Acura ( should be about $15.00 for 3 small bottles) and some "langka". It's almost magical.

I had a small chip on the top of my trunk, and I used Acura touch up and some langka, and now I would challenge anyone to find the where the chip was. It was pretty amazing.

Go to the website and watch the video demonstration.

Also, I must give credit to another member here on 'Prime for making me aware of this product in a previous thread. That's where I learned about. Just do a search on "Langka".

Good Luck.

any polish or hand glaze is good enough for taking minor scratches out.
What color is your car, dawggpie?

My car is black. I'm not sure if i would call the scratches minor. They don't go through the paint but I'm pretty sure they cut through the clear coat. I'm tried one of those scratch removing polishes and it didn't seem to make much of a difference.
