South Florida Blue Ridge/Dragon trip in October

Tentative dates are as follows:
Leave on the Auto Train Tuesday October 11th.
Arrive in Lorton, VA Wednesday morning the 12th then ride Skyline Drive and the first 120 miles of The Blue Ridge Parkway.
Spend the night in Roanoke, VA on Wednesday the 13th.
Ride the rest of the Blue Ridge Parkway on Thursday the 14th.
Arrive in Cherokee, NC Thursday evening. This will be our "base camp" for the next 2 nights as we explore the roads in the area. This gives us plenty of time to ride and will allow for a Saturday afternoon departure. It's a 12 hour ride home so it's advisable to cut the trip home in half with an overnight somewhere in southern Georgia which gets you home sometime on Sunday the 16th.

Let's meet for dinner this Thursday night at Carlos and Pepe's on the 17th Street Causeway at 8pm.

This is open to both cars and motorcycles so if you're interested in joining the fun, be there this Thursday.

As October approaches I imagine some of these guys will join in. Several of them were from Florida and plan on coming back in October.

That's cool that the Vette guys will be at the Dragon the same weekend I'm planning this trip. I'm sure they're a great bunch of guys.

I also noticed I screwed up the dates. Correct dates are:
Depart Florida on 10/11
Arrive Lorton on 10/12
Arrive Roanoke on 10/12
Depart Roanoke on 10/13
Arrive Cherokee on 10/13
Have multiple "roadgasms" on 10/14 and 10/15
Leave for home (boo hoo) on 10/15 or perhaps even Sunday 10/16

Anyone else from South Florida considering this trip or anyone from further north planning on meeting for the Blue Ridge ride or meeting at the Dragon?

There are lots of hotels and lots of rooms available in Cherokee.
