A buddy of mine says he sprays the front of his car with spray nine let's it sit for a few minutes then the bugs wash of easily. My question is:is spray nine hard on the paint

Never heard of the stuff, but if it's an effective bug remover, I'd be willing to bet it's an effect wax remover as well, don't think it would hurt the clear coat if it's designed for car care, but if not I'd double check the ingredients.

Ive started using 1/4 rubbing alcohol and 3/4 water mixture for my bug removal on my clear bra. It works quite well. I think it probably strips some wax but I always follow up with a spray wax.

Works well and SUPER cheap.

For Bugs:

first ensure you have a good wax base. then use Turtle wax clear ICE. Nothing sticks to it. The key here is to ensure the bugs cannot stick.
I have heard of using PAM kitchen spray before a long highway trip on the front of motor homes. The bugs just slide off that stuff!

I don't dilute but never used it on paint,The one place on the car that it works good is the tires.Just spray on leave a few minutes then rub the tire with a floor scrubbing brush then rinse with water.Once dry add tire dressing.

Spray Nine is great stuff but seems a little harsh for removing bugs. I prefer to keep the nose of the car wet while I wash everything else, by the time I'm ready for the front they've softened up quite a bit.

I am not affiliated with any products, but a few years ago while driving my vette from Seattle to Michigan in July I decided to try Rejex on one side view mirror and the other had Zaino on it. Also did the entire front of the vette in rejex and the front of my wifes SUV in rejex (we were bringing both vehicles crosds country). I have to say the the parts treated with Rejex were 1000% easier to clean the bugs off of than the non treated parts. Most of it came off with just the pressure from the hose nozzle....needless to say the un treated parts were a friggin nightmare to clean!

Bug and Tar remover works well and it is save for the paint.

Also I heard Peanut Butter works (non chunky of course)

I havent tried it but I know the florida car guys swear by it!

WD 40 can remove bugs and alcohol can remove tar and sap. You have to wash the area after the removal and then rewax. If you use Ice clear spray before hand you can remove with Ice as well. That is what I do.
