I had my X at St. Louis Acura for the Tbelt/wp service back in October. Was replacing the air filter over the weekend, when I noticed that they had placed a "service sticker" on the firewall in the engine compartment noting the service performed. Couldn't believe it... a stupid ass ugly sticker on an NSX ? It took 15 minutes of careful work with a solvent to remove the sticker and the residual glue.
Anyone else have this happen ? Obviously I'll request "no stickers" next time.

Never checked for one, I will now.
How much did they charge you for the service? They were pretty good with my car when I used them. I had brake problems after the put aftermarket pads on the car, supplied by me, on a Friday. That next Sat. morning they were there early to get me to my DE event. As you said I would just mention it to them. I am sure they would stop.

My car was origianlly purchased at St Louis Acura and has a similar sticket showing "pre delivery inspection" under the front bonnet. I left it as, in the long run, it might be nice to have there.

Len -

I bought the parts on the internet (just over $300) and St. Louis Acura was just labor for installing the Tbelt/waterpump/acc. belts ($699.96).

I was just surprised about the sticker because I would have thought others would have complained at some point.

SJJ28 - I personally would rather save the receipts than have the sticker for proof of service

Wow - that's a great price! Did they do all the 20 something cooling hoses too for that?

I saw that add, for the timing belt special.
A month or so ago. That was a good price.
Ditto on the sticker issue. I don't even like the badges to be on my car. Clean and simple.
Thanks

OOps! I saw the price of $617, Yeah as Tom said, "hook a brother up" Actually I just found out the other day that all of this had been done on my car. Got the receipts in the mail. Glad now I can use those $$$ on Braking.

Tom-
I got the parts from Neillo Acura (ask for eric) (916)334-6300). They have a 1-800 number but I can't find it right now. Parts included Tbelt, waterpump, accessory belts. They also said I should get the cam seals ? but St. Louis Acura didn't install them even though I provided them, and said I should replace the valve cover gaskets instead. So I would suggest makeing sure you get the valve cover gaskets when you order but the cam seals are questionable.

Len-
The 699.96 (including tax) price wasn't a special, it was just their labor cost less a 10% NSXCA discount (also included the cost of the valve cover gaskets since I hadn't provided them )

This is not a slam, I use St. Louis Acura for all my service issues I cannot handle myself, Just make sure you ask them to clean your car both before and after work. The NSX service mat used by all good techs can leave some very deep scratches in your paint if the pad is put on a dirty car. I and they know first hand. They handled the issue very well and I will still use there services. This is just a warning to others. I do not think it is to much to ask and they are use to us NSX owners making unusual requests.

Eric is no longer with Niello Acura. You can ask for Mike Svilarich. I have two different toll-free numbers for them, 800-472-7278 and 800-359-2299, and I think both of them are correct.

Good point Dave, I spent awhile buffing some scratches off the rear end of my car as well.
I don't event let them wash it when they finish fixing it. I take it in clean as to keep the dust off the car, so it will not get scratched. Or at least minimize the chances.

Well, they lost some points with me on that one. The cam seals are difficult because you need to loosen/remove SO many bolts, but they are a notorious place for leaks and by far simpler to do with the belt already off. Replacing the valve cover gaskets is fine, but unnecessary if not already leaking because they are relatively quick and simple to do at any time. So if the car has some years and miles, might as well, but mostly to avoid another trip later.

In other words, I'd say that they got that one completely backwards and should certainly know better. They probably thought they were saving you some money, but it would have been money well spent. Neillo had it right.

Thanks for the info on this issue, this thread saved me a few hundred dollars. My TB/WP is due but the info on the cam seals I was unaware of. I havn't noticed leaks anywhere. The car is a 96 w/30k on it, although I'll give it a good look again. I assume the came seals are more of a mileage/years issue but you never know.

I havn't contacted the aforementioned dealership in CA on ordering the parts, but Gerry Johnson said he would help me out w/them, I just have to find out if the dealer will go for the $377 labor costs they originally quoted me if I go outside of them. Thanks again.

Dave, All. Ths happened to me today. They need to get a new service pad. They scratched the hell out of my car and I am not happy. What did they do for you? I am picking it up in the am I will see how all the scratches came out. It was pretty bad. I mean damn you'd think they would learn after one or two occasions. I mean it's the same mechanic that works on the cars.
I mean my car looked like crap. If it isn't right tomorrow when I pick it up, then I am taking it to a pro shop at their expense.
They look at you like you shouldn't complain and just accept it.

Sorry to see this Len. I have been out / traveling the last 2 weeks so I assume this has something to do with you supercharger. Don't let them off easy and raise it personally to Dave Munganast if you need to / keep us posted.

If it wearnt for bad luck you would have none right now!

:(

chin up / hang in there - small stuff baby!

Thanks Nick, your right about the bad luck thing. Just been terrible this month. The next week will be fun it's daddy's week alone with the girls. The week after that it's daddys week by himself.:) I am going to make the best of it. Just relax and do some painting, driving, work on my rehab a little. Just get all of the agression out. Then it's track time. There were some issues with the vaccum with the car, it appears to be correct now. It runs pretty well. The new SC is very quiet compared to the old one. The only difference being a much more noticable whistle at boost, which doesn't bother me. I can feel the difference with the new kit. It makes a difference. I gotta catch up with Phil so we can do a comparo. I want to see if he thinks it's worth it to him.
