I believe the movie was out last December, it looks good. The first trailer was out six months ago and was very impressive.

It appears that it did come out in Japan last month. I'm looking around to see if it will be coming to the US (with subtitles).

Kinda has a Battlestar Galatica feel to it...the newer version of BG.

I was always a Harlcok fan myself....

I had heard rumors of a live action movie with this character too...

Wow, I woke up early every morning as a kid just so I could watch this at 7:00am. It might have been the first science fiction I was really into. Much later in college, I taught myself to read Japanese by trying to read the comic books. In retrospect, it was not a good starting choice because it contains a lot of difficult science fiction and military vocabulary. But it was a good read anyway.

Loved Star Blazers as a kid and even more when I discovered Yamato as an adult. I have almost the entire series on DVD. Can't wait to watch this live action version. My wife's a huge Kimura Takuya fan, so so problems making her sit through this with me ;) Glad the main theme song was not done by his band SMAP. LOL.
