Need to know WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE of Bridgestone tires RE010 vs RE040??

REALLY HATE GIVING UP ANY EXTRA SIDEWALL (215/45 VS 215/40 ON MY LOUSY POTHOLE ROADS,

IS TIRE TREAD SAME? COMPOUND? ANYONE?

The compounds are not the same, nor would I suggest mixing these (or any other tire variation) on an nsx. While both tires are OE NSX tires at one point or another, they were not made or intended to work together.

I had the same sizes in the Kumho 721 Supra mounted on my 1995 NSX-T and got over 20k miles on the set. Great tire and an inexpensive cost. If you aren't going to the track they will work great.

Sure there was. You're just ignoring it.

It's not recommended.

They are different models of tires.

I thought you're using the OEM tires in front, which are 215/45-16.

No and no.

The issue isn't the sizes, it's mixing different models of tire in front vs the rear, which is not recommended.

the Kumho 721 Supra
Still having trouble with numbers, huh? ;) It's the Kumho Ecsta 712 (not 721) Supra, and that is designed to be a budget performance tire that will not handle or perform as well as the OEM tires. If you don't mind sacrificing performance on your expensive high-performance car in order to save a few bucks on tires, they may be fine - for you. But they are not a good choice for any NSX owner who enjoys the higher performance and greater cornering feel of the OEM tires.

Dennis, just get another set of the 245/40-17 RE010 rear tires - they're the best choice for you. And don't ask again!

I have them (because they came already on my car), and I agree with Ken; they are junk. I won't put them on again. Maybe the MX's would be better, but I will go with either s03's or T1S's (for my wheels).
