Stock 16/17 tire question

I have searched and read extensively. Most tire discusions have been about stock 17s for 2002+ or aftermarket wheels. I am trying to find new tires, F & R for my 2000 with stock size (215/45/16 & 245/40/17) and no one makes that size anymore. Tirerack has low stock of OEM Yokos, but I don't want to have to buy 4R amd 2F so I won't have to worry about matching down the road. Goodyear GS3Ds look pretty good and the Falkens.

Goodyear has the stock Rears, but no front. Falken has the stock front but not rear. So what sizes can I go with that will still work with stock 16/17?

Goodyear
205/45/16 or 215/40/16 for the front?

Falken 615
Rear - 255/40R17 ???

Will the Falken's wear significantly faster than the Goodyears (street)?

I drive 90% on the street, dry only.

Yes, exactly.

Yes, by far; you can expect close to three times as many miles to a set of Goodyear F1 GS-D3 as with the Falken RT-615.

I ran Toyo T1-R 205/45/16 without any problems, no tcs light ever. Same OD, width as oem tires.

Captain

I ran into the same issue a couple of weeks ago. Jin was kind enough to post pics on my post of the 205/45 Goodyears as I wanted to make sure they didnt look stretched on the wheel. If you want to see them check out this post. Hands down tirerack.com has the best deals, even my local goodyear dealer that mounted the tires for me told me he pays $10 more per tire than I paid. Good Luck.
