Guys what is the stock width on 96. Looking at rims but fronts are 7" too small right. Thanks Mike

If I were to buy wheels for my NSX, I would buy Volk LE-37s. A 17x7.5 in front and 17x9.5 or 18x9.5 in rear. Anything wider than a 7.5" in front bow the tires (215-40x17) outward too much for my taste. An NSX is an exotic, which should remain exotic looking. Not taking on the musclecar look.

For the 215/40-17 size that many NSXers are using in front, the recommended widths for the popular Bridgestone RE040 and S-03 tires are 7 inches to 8 inches; in addition to being the midpoint of this range, 7.5 inches is also the "measuring" rim width for which the specs are provided. So the 7.5 inch width is optimal for this size.

For both the 255/40-17 rear size RE040 and the 255/35-18 rear size S-03, the range is 8.5-10" and the measuring rim width is 9.0 inches, so you might want to consider 17x9 or 18x9 rather than the 9.5.
