Sunvisor / Interior color question.....

Ok gentleman... my latest hang up.

I have a '91. Black interior with a grey headliner and visors. The visors are peeling away from the foam. I was thinking of getting new visors this week before I roll up to NSXPO. So I call the parts department.

They say my interior had 2 options for 91. Black and Titanium White. Titanium White?????? It's GREY! Seeing as how it's NOT black.... I guess it's Titanium white. They say those visors are out of production and can't be ordered.

So I'm thinking, well just gimme some grey visors from a newer year. In 96 they had a color called "Seagull Grey". I ask him "is it possible they changed the name of my color to Seagull Grey from Titanium White seeing as how it's NOT WHITE? He said if they did that it would still have the same part number.

So I guess all I'm asking is what the hell is the difference between Seagull Grey and Titanium white.... which is really grey? And if I ordered Seagull Grey visors, how bad would it look against my supposed white headliner?

Looks like the Honda parts database is screwed up or intentionally filtering (probably due to part availability)...interesting.

83280-SL0-A50ZB (left) 93-94

All show color as "half black", which I suspect is gray.

The 91/92 "half black" has dropped off the map, I suspect because they probably imprinted with some airbag safety information for the passenger (right) air bag?

See that is very interesting. I wonder if half black IS grey! And yes I know that on the drivers visor there is airbag info. The passenger has a mirror. And there wasn't a passenger air bag until after 94 right?

Half Black = Grey
Real Black = Black

I can say for certain that in the computer world where everything is a discrete number: 50% of black is 100% grey. See attachment.

What half-black means Honda I can't say certain, but the bet is good that it is grey. It is your money and the risk/reward is all yours.

Passenger airbags were installed in the 1993 model.

For the old visors just get them rewrap with some alcantara or suede. Mine are done with black suede ala NSX-R.
