OK. I know this topic has been flogged to death, but I am looking for some recommendations from you guys.

The car is ten years old, completely stock with the exception of after market wheels. I think it’s about time to replace the OEM shocks. It currently has about 55K miles and I drive it a few hundred miles a month. With that in mind, I am considering doing some suspension modifications while replacing the shocks, and that’s why I am looking for your help.

Keep in mind, I live in San Francisco. I scrape EVERY time I drive out of my garage, but very seldom in the City. I don’t track the car but I do some spirited driving and the Bay Area members do some twisty drives on occasion.. I really enjoy a FIRM/FLAT ride.

I don’t want to spend a fortune. This is my second NSX and I may sell it in the “near” future. I’ve been looking at some Lambos because I’ve had an NSX for the past eight years.

Or, just keep it stock and replace the stocks…

Thanks in advance for your advice.

just get the bilsteins and leave them at factory perch, that way who ever gets the car later can just lower the perch when they want to lower the car and for now you won't scrape as much and still have a little better handling then stock

Doug, mpkr91 gives good advice but based on your stated wants/requirements I'd add anti-roll bars to his answer. Also, keep in mind that, depending on your budget, coilovers can be an answer as well because you can have really great performance and still keep the stock ride height if the right springs are used.

Make sure you go on a few drives with us before you move on to a Lambo. It might just keep you interested in the NSX a little longer:biggrin:

Thanks for the information James. See you Sunday.

I just installed the bilsteins with the springs on the "lower" perch. I love it. It's not slammed by any means but does'nt have that huge fender gap and the ride is slightly firmer {which I like}. Drop is like 7/8 inch.

I agree with doing the Bilsteins also. I think they is the best compromise between cost and performance with ability to set them at a lower perch setting. You may also be interested in the NSX-R front chassis bars and swaybar to stiffen things up in the turns.

This is what I am doing next week. Looking forward to it!

I agree with the Bilsteins mounted using the perch that maintains the stock ride height. That's what I have on my own NSX!

Hey Doug, I'd also recommend the bilsteins. Then follow up with Dali street/track set of swaybars.

Another great option is Yojack1's setup. You should go check out their NSX, it's running on Tein Flex coilovers. Super plush set up. Even through the rough stuff, their car kept it's tires planted through out the corners..

So your saying Dali street/track sways make a pretty decent difference?

Anyone RECCOMEND where to buy Bilsteins for a 2003 and what springs work the best as I too want what DOUG want ...get rid of the gap without slamming the car

I have searched Bilstiens site for a part number but it says "not available"

thx guys!!

Give NOPI a call. They sell the Bilsteins and Eibach Pro spring kit. It will give you exactly what you want without the slammed look.

I did Bilsteins on lower perch. It is nice that you have a choice of 2 perches. I also bought mine from NOPI. Call 1-800-277-6674 x.266 I love them.
